The Times

The Noblesville and Hamilton County real estate communities lost a prominent member and friend when Debra Markstone Castino, 49, of Noblesville passed away unexpectedly Monday at Carmel St. Vincent Hospital. Born May 30, 1961 in Indianapolis, she was the daughter of David and June (Mundt) Markstone.

Castino was recently named a Top 10 Agent with the F.C. Tucker Company - the No. 1 real estate agency in the state of Indiana with more than 650 real estate agents. She was also a vice president real estate broker and Lifetime President´s Club Member to the F.C. Tucker Company. Specializing in residential real estate, Castino was known for her professional representation while maintaining personal service.

"I love real estate and I use my enthusiasm to help my clients find the perfect home or market their home for sale," Castino said of her profession.

Castino was active and participated in many various community activities. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Noblesville, Harbour Trees Golf Club, Elks Lodge of Noblesville and Miller Backers.

She also served as a Boys and Girls Club of Noblesville board member, past-president of Boys and Girls Club Auxiliary, past PTO president at Forest Hill Elementary School and Noblesville Intermediate School, past vice president of the Community Advisory Committee.

"Deb was such a servant to the Noblesville community and she will be deeply missed," Noblesville Mayor John Ditslear said Tuesday. "My greatest sympathies go out to her family during this heartbreaking and tragic time."

You should read the Thanks to all post.

Today we lost a great friend, Deb Castino. Unfortunately the news of her loss was quite unexpected and tragic. She meant a lot to this family, and was much more than just a great friend to my Mom and colleague to my Dad.

Deb was not only a great friend, but a well-meaning mother, enthusiastic real estate agent, and one of a kind wife. She was dedicated to making her community a better place through her endeavors at the Boys & Girls Club of Noblesville, and courtside at all those basketball games. She was the biggest fan of the boys in her life, including her husband Bill. She could be counted on to not only as a "chatty cathy" but as s shoulder to cry upon. Deb was confident and fearless. After years of play-dates and carpool duty she made the leap into real estate and flourished. She worked hard for what she wanted and always got it & my mom put it so eloquently by stating that Deb was going to pissed that she is dead and we are still down here without her (Don't worry Deb, we wouldnt' dare forget your 50th birthday)!

She never missed a party or gathering and often hosted them herself. She was a figure of confidence and happiness not only to her family and friends but to her community as well. There is no doubt that her legacy of dedication will live on, but she will be dearly missed.

Please keep the Castino's in your prayers as they go through an undoubtedly tough process of grieving the loss of their fabulous wife, daughter, sister, aunt and mother.

WHO'S EXCITED??!

Clark Girls Weekend is in 5 days!! I hope everyone brings interesting stories, yummy food, and fun activities. We will see you pretty ladies Friday night!!

xoxoxoxoxo Mimi, Kiki, Logann, and Helen

Crap!! I just spent like 20 minutes writing a long beautiful post and then it wouldn't publish it and it erased. Im not sure what all it said, but I am not going to try. So sorry!! I tried to do a nice long thanksgiving post but it has been deleted! booooo :(

Kate Middleton's engagement ring is 18 carats! I can't even imagine. It is soooo beautiful! Lucky lady.

Good Evening,
Kelly wanted me to let you all know that they do have official word now on the type of brain tumor that Kelsey has, and it is a glioblastoma.
They will be meeting with the Oncologist to go forward with a plan of treatment to include chemotherapy and radiation. Kelsey may also undergo some experimental treatment as well.
At this point, they are not sure if they may be going elsewhere for some of the treatment, or staying here. Both Kelsey and Kelly are remaining as positive as they can, and truly taking each day as it comes. Kelsey's Faith throughout all this is continuing to amaze all those who have seen him, and I know this will carry him far!

There are still a few open dates left (one next week) for bringing meals on mealbaby.com, and it would be most appreciated if anyone has the time-- if they could bring a meal to the Stewarts. Kelly has said many times these meals have been such a gift to their family, and it really does help them out.
Please continue to keep Kelsey in your prayers.....

Kelsey

Kelsey's surgery went very well last night. The Surgeon was very pleased with the results. Please continue to pray for Kelly and Kelsey and their children. Thank you for your prayers thus far. I am so thankful that the surgery was so successful. The surgeon was obviously encouraged by what they were able to accomplish. Wonderful news!

Please pray for Kelly's husband Kelsey. He thought he had a sinus infection but a catscan showed a brain tumor. Kelly called me yesterday and asked me to pray for Kelsey. They were on their way to the hospital. She called me again last night at 11:30 and said they were going to do a biopsy and then possibly surgery.

Let me tell you something, if you ever for one moment ever just once believed in the power of prayer, please pray for the Stewart family, Hailey, Elisha, Noah, Chloe and Brianna. (That is Kelly's lil' Sis Laura standing next to her.)

When Kelly and I both moved back to Indiana and she told me that all of those years that we had lost touch with each other she prayed for me. Can you imagine knowing someone prayed for you for years like that? I feel such an immense amount of gratitude to her for that. And it is not uncommon for her to call me out of the blue to tell me how much I mean to her and how thankful she is that I'm her friend. I don't need to tell you all how awesome our Kelly is. I know she is very scared right now. I am asking for prayer for her and her family. Please continue to pray for Kelsey's healing, comfort, strength. Pray for all of his Doctors and caregivers. Pray for his children and please pray for Kelly. Pray that she may know a strength and a peace and a love that passes all understanding. It is from the bottom of my heart that I pray for healing for Kelsey and it is from the bottom of my heart that I ask you to please join me. Kelly did tell me last night that God was showing his love for them through their loved ones and that they were strong. I think the whole family stayed with Kelsey last night. I will keep you posted about his progress through this ordeal. Thank you! Love you!
Kelly C.

Did anyone see Oprah interview the Jackson's today? I was at work & missed it :(
I guess I'll have to YouTube it.

Yippie

I asked off for clark girls weekend .)

Wellllllllllll

I'm just gonna tell you about my day.
I got up a little earlier this morning than usual which was nice. Nice to have a little extra time in the morning. I could hear cute little Stephanie downstairs making the coffee. Delightful. So I waited for the beep....and THEN I HOPPED out of bed and darted down the stairs, got my favorite cup. Put some half and half in it and then poured the wonderful hot coffee in. Ahhhhh! I grabbed a fleece blanket and sat on the couch in the front room. I can see out the window and it's still dark out and the stars are shining! In comes Kayla, Mike and Conner. I usually say my prayers while the sun is rising. I think that's a mighty fine way to go about the morning. Mighty fine indeed. So, then I had to go get dressed and drive to work. Work was fun today. Just was. Then I drove home and on the way home KiKi called me which was very nice so we had a lovely chat. I came home and put on my flannel penguin jammies which are still so comfy and warm after three years of wonderfulness. Thank you BooBoo. Conner is at BeBe's this evening and staying the night. Kayla is at her cousin Chelsea's house and Steph is at Matteos. Mike is in the kitchen and I am typing away on the bputer. I don't know why! I've been on one all day long! I had a dream last night that I owned a Saloon but it was really a juice bar. It was soooooo cooooooool! wheat grass shots and all. We had lemon shake ups and fresh squeezed orange juice and we had these little tiny bags with bacon in them. They were awesome! Just like a small order of McDonalds french fries but bacon. Huh. Me so crazy.! I am thinking about writing a little biography about my friend Geneva who is 95 years old. I interviewed her for the newsletter at church. She lives in Deming and you know what? Her hair isn't even all grey yet! She is still like salt and pepper haired! Can you imagine! Oh my she's precious. What an interesting life. ANd on Tuesday we are having a party at church for my friend Jay who is also turning 95. He is a friend of Genevas. When he was a kid people still rode horse and buggies to church! Imagine that if you will! He lives in Deming too. Did you know that Deming used to have TWO Grocery stores? What? I know! You could knock me over with a feather with that bit of news! I love Deming. It's so cute and little. Well, we are starting the first phase of our church restoration project. We need $50,000. We have already received $10,000 in donations! Our church was established in 1836 so it will be 175 years old next year! That is about ten years older than most of the buildings in downtown Noblesville I believe. Well, hey, why don't some of youzins' drop a line sometime. sho nuf would like to hear what chyall duin.

"You control your brain don't you?"
and he says..
"Yeah, I do, I've got my Mt. Dew and I'm happy!"

THE END

On the lack of beautiful actresses nowadays:  ”When I was young, everybody on screen was gorgeous. I have to say, there aren’t that many good looking actresses around today. I mean, there’s Angelina Jolie and there’s… Angelina Jolie. Jennifer Aniston is cute, but I wouldn’t call her beautiful. She’s no Ava [Gardner] or Lana [Turner].”

Its been awhile

Hey everyone I know I haven't been on for awhile so heres the scoop I made the girls 2010 sectional team and the regional team. Im super excited we had our sectional meet last night and were moving on! This morning I get the joy of taking the Psat while steph gets to sleep totally not fair, but oh well. Well I hope you all have a great rest of the week and I love you all and hope to see ya soon!

The Client List

Did anyone see the Lifetime Movie with Jennifer Love Hewitt about the Suburban Housewife turned prostetute? OMG! I watched it Sunday night and it's so bad it's good. Please tell me someone saw it.

The House of 1000 Mirrors

Long ago in a small, far away village, there was a place known as the House of 1000 Mirrors. A small, happy little dog learned of this place and decided to visit. When he arrived, he bounced happily up the stairs to the doorway of the house. He looked through the doorway with his ears lifted high and his tail wagging as fast as it could. To his great surprise, he found himself staring at 1000 other happy little dogs with their tails wagging just as fast as his. He smiled a great smile, and was answered with 1000 great smiles just as warm and friendly. As he left the house, he thought to himself, "This is a wonderful place. I will come back and visit it often."

In this same village, another little dog, who was not quite as happy as the first one, decided to visit the house. He slowly climbed the stairs and hung his head low as he looked into the door. When he saw the 1000 unfriendly looking dogs staring back at him, he growled at them and was horrified to see 1000 little dogs growling back at him. As he left, he thought to himself, "That is a horrible place, and I will never go back there again."

All the faces in the world are mirrors. What kind of reflections do you see in the faces of the people you meet?

Today is 10-10-10!!

Jon

Happy belated birthday to my dad! We had a fabulous rooftop dinner at Dunaway's last night overlooking Lucas Oil Stadium and the rest of downtown. We all had some very delicious food and even shared some yummy bottles of wine. It was the perfect night and all in the celebration of 52 years of Hirschfeld awesomeness. Just wanted to say happy birthday to the world's greatest dad!

Any good Jon stories to share?? I bet there are...

Texas Rodeo Tykes

This show was on Animal Planet last night and I loved it. It's like toddlers and tiaras for the cowboy set. Me conner and Mike were laughing so hard. These poor dads are so frustrated and the kids are just doing their thing and it's hilarious!

Material possessions, winning scores, and great reputations are meaningless in the eyes of the Lord, because He knows what we really are and that is all that matters.

Native American Prayer

Oh, Great Spirit
Whose voice I hear in the winds,
And whose breath gives life to all the world,
hear me, I am small and weak,
I need your strength and wisdom.
Let me walk in beauty and make my eyes ever behold
the red and purple sunset.
Make my hands respect the things you have
made and my ears sharp to hear your voice.
Make me wise so that I may understand the things
you have taught my people.
Let me learn the lessons you have
hidden in every leaf and rock.

I seek strength, not to be greater than my brother,
but to fight my greatest enemy - myself.
Make me always ready to come to you
with clean hands and straight eyes.
So when life fades, as the fading sunset,
my Spirit may come to you without shame.

Gilmore Girls Turns 10

“Please, Luke. Please, please, please.”
And with that very first line of dialogue, the premiere episode of “Gilmore Girls” aired exactly 10 years ago today. Our heroine, Lorelai Gilmore was - as she often did throughout the series’ seven-year run – begging for coffee.
Although “Gilmore Girls” ended in 2007, it still experiences renaissances on a continuous loop due to daily airings of re-runs on ABC Family and SOAPnet. With DVD and iTunes sales going strong, it’s no wonder there’s so much buzz about a possible “Gilmore Girls” movie and demand among fans for an eighth season.

I've waxed poetic about the brilliance of the "Gilmore Girls" before,  so I’ll try to stop gushing so much. But earlier today, I spoke to actress Keiko Agena, who played Rory’s BFF Lane Kim.
On shooting the pilot, Agena recalled “being away from home and so excited and loving the script and just filled with hope that everybody would love it as much as we did. We knew it was good but that doesn’t always mean that everybody’s going to like it and that it will be a successful show."
It turns out they filmed in Toronto, "which was just beautiful and really, actually cold instead of the balmy southern California weather which is how we shot the rest of the episodes," Agena said. "That was the only time we had real cold air, the rest of the time it was just snow machines.”
As for what she’s up to these days, the actress said, “Today I’m actually at NASA. We are filming ‘Transformers 3’ and I get to play Frances McDormand’s assistant so that’s been a lot of fun.” She's also apparently channeling her inner Jim Henson, and is taking puppetry classes at Puppet School and gearing up for a December show. Calling it her “new obsession,” Agena said she’s “crazy in love” with puppetry.
I also had a chance to speak to Aaron Berman, author of the upcoming book “The Gilmore Girls Companion,” which is an unauthorized behind-the-scenes look at the making of the show and features 40 interviews with cast and crew members.
“Lauren Graham was the last one to be cast,” said Berman. (At the time, she was contractually obligated to a series called “MYOB” which wound up not getting picked up.)
According to Berman, a “light day” for the main actors was 14 hours. “Sometimes cast members were on-set for as long as 21 hours, and the crew even longer.” Sleep was so scarce that when crew members had an hour to themselves, they ran to the sets that had beds (Lorelai’s room was a favorite).
Berman also provided some other fantastic details:
● The character of Kirk was inspired by Amy's father, Don Sherman, who used to turn up on “Gimme a Break” (and occasionally “Barney Miller”) because he was friends with the producers. He would play a different character each time.
● Most of the jewelry you see Emily Gilmore wearing is Kelly Bishop's own, in particular the gold necklace she often wears. The actress is allergic to costume jewelry and bought the necklace herself for the role. She's only worn it twice since “Gilmore,” both times in stage plays.
● Though "Gilmore Girls" is known for its fast delivery of dialogue ("Life's Short. Talk Fast" being the strapline for the show), a lot of that speed is a result of the editing. As one of the editors said, "if there was a breath of air between Luke saying 'Tomorrow' and Lauren saying 'I’ll be here,' I would take it out."
● Warner Brothers studios' proximity to Burbank Airport resulted in having to halt the taping of scenes so as not to record the sound of passing planes.
● The motor oil that Gypsy deals with on set (and occasionally gets on her) is steak sauce.
“In the end,” said Berman, "‘Gilmore Girls’ remains beloved the world over today because it addresses the absurdities of life, and the imperfections in our relationships with one another, with humor and an understanding of what it is to be human.
There are stereotypes, certainly - Kirk's cluelessness, Taylor's scheming, Emily's disapproving - but every character is also presented as decidedly human. As Lorelai observes of Kirk, ‘it's all any of us wants - to find a nice person to hang out with 'til we drop dead. Not a lot to ask." Amen.

"Gilmore Girls" (2000-07)

There's something about the believability in Rory and Lorelai Gilmore's mother-daughter relationship that made fans fall in love with the series -- perhaps a little too much.
Even after seven seasons, fans are demanding an encore, and Lauren Graham told Vanity Fair that it's actually a possibility, with powerful people talking about it, not just the fans.
Yet Graham went on to say that she's not sure "Gilmore Girls" could fill a two-hour time slot.
"What might be a hit on television might not be something they want to consider for the big screen," Moore said. "But if fans continue to push these things, you never know."

TORI WINS PHOTO CONTEST

With her Forrest Gump in Savannah photo! Congratulations Tori! You are like waking up to snow! You will recieve your special gift at teh Clark Girls Winter Retreat!

Fuuuun!

Well i've spent the last two weekends at the cabin and they have been glorious. Yesterday we went to Meemaw and Peepaws for October birthdays. It was good to see everyone and get the annual xmas pic out of the way. Peepaw made the boys participate in the great giveaway which you'll just have to hear about in person. I'm working this weekend and then it is off to Orlando florida to go to Universal Studios. Harry Potter here I come!

Mike and I went to Tom and Amy's for dinner Friday Night and it was fantastic.(celebrating Amy 's 40th Birthday) Little Josie is so cute and sweet! Viv was at Tanner's football game. (They WON!) It was Homecoming and they are undefeated, Tanner is quarterback. (AWESOME!) Tom made prime rib and potato onion bread  and twenty other gloriously delicous things including a sugar cream oatmeal pie. Amy is making me a manhattan in the pic above. She even crushes the ice, so good. They have five big turkeys and they are very impressive looking animals I must say. Okay, I can't stand it we had beets, carrits and greenbeans, potatoes and tossed salad. I tried not to write about all of the food but I just couldn't stand not to. Amy's friend Ricky and his wife Cybil were there. Amy's friend Tanya and her husband Brad were there as well. I told you  had a good weekend!

Howdy Ya'll!

These pics are from Christy and John's Thursday night Promising Futures silent auction. There were over 500 people there! The appetizers and the martini's were awesome! The people watching was pretty good too! That basket is the one BeBe won! Isn't it lovely? Their were two young girls who spoke about being teenagers and mothers and how the program had changed their lives. Maybe this Christmas we could do something for Promising Futures? Oh and they had hand held digital bidding devices that were very cool. I thought they were giving me an I-Phone just for showing up. Oh I'm sorry I thought I was at an Oscars after party! Where's RDJ? I'm sitting at his table. Detour!
weeeeellllllllll, I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! Sure great to hear from Logann and KiKi! My Monday workday is coming to an end. I am looking forward to going home. We had a fire in the fireplace both Saturday and Sunday night and it was so delightful! We watched two Jackie Chan movies (The Spy next door and Rush Hour 3) and a football game. A good game with a less good ending. We cooked a pot roast and Michaela and her friend Dayton made Grandma Essie's apple pie for dessert. Oh And Hic! You are right those Pillsbury pizza crusts (in the tube)are so good! We made two of those this weekend too! Our weekend was really relaxing and I enjoyed every minute of it! Stephanie has applied to Ball State, IU Hanover and Anderson and IUPUI-Herron. So say a little prayer for her that she lands somewhere that she can find her niche!  I'd love to hear from everyone and if no one else submits a picture for the photo contest Logann wins by default which is still a WIN! I will check in tomorrow Morning. Maybe I will be surprised by a wonderland of pictures! Like when you wake up and there's snow on the ground!

Greetings from Savannah!

Hello Clark Girls, Cathy and Logann here..

We are about to watch the new Glee episode, Britney Spears, so we must run. However, we miss you all dearly. xxxxxxxx

ps Kelly this does not count for the picture contest

Hey Everyone!

I had an idea, First let me warn you I had to walk away from Facebook. Push away from the table so to speak. It was just getting to me. So, I am on hiatus from FB. So, I am wondering if my addiction will transfer back to Blogging...like in the old days, remember? I used to post like 5  times a day? Anyway, so, since i can't get on FB I want to do something fun on the Blog.(SEE?) And I stole an idea from Pioneer Woman. It's a photo contest.! I would like to ask everyone to submit a picture that they have taken that is their favorite. And when everyone has submitted their photo we will vote for the top three or whatever and maybe even think of an awesome prize! Okay! So lets say you have until Tuesday Morning to submit your photo and then we will all vote! yOU go gIRLS! Maybe we can make a beautiful collage with all of these pics.....project for CLARK GIRLS winter wonderland weekend? I'm going to go look for my fave pic. AND I can't even use my Facebook PAGE! I will have to go look on my computer which is a lot harder! I'MMMMMMM BAAACKKKKKKK!

That's My Boy!

Happy Birthday Conner!
Conner is nine years old today. He is the youngest of BeBe's grandchildren. He is the youngest by almost 10 years which makes him seem more like one of the great grandchildren. Conner is a bridge builder. He is the glue that connects our family together.Conner has a lot of love in his heart for everyone in this family. He could easily tell you why each of you is special to him and what makes you special. One time when he was about three he said "I'm everybody's buddy" and I think that says it all.

E-mail from Aunt Sharon

Our senior group is starting work on our 3rd production.  The first was a "Vaudeville Show", at present we are doing  a "50's Show"
the new show is a "Broadway Review".  It's a lot of work, but we are invited back to facilities so we have to have new material.  Of course most of the people we perform for don't remember what they had for breakfast so it's doubtful they'd remember anything they've seen before.

I'm sorry I didn't respond before, but things here have been crazy since July 24, when we had 7 inches of rain and our basement was flooded.  It was 2 weeks before the guys we hired to take up the carpeting, the tile, tear out the paneling etc, etc,..... could start.  They were moving right along and the contractor's father was diagnosed with cancer and he had to go to Montana, all worked stopped for 10 days.  Then the computer went down followed by AT&T having to make 4 visits to clear up the static that kept us from being able to hear conversations on the phone.  At one point they found a mouse nest in the cable box in the back yard.  Finally, yesterday the repair man "jiggled" some wires and we are once again able to hear conversations on the phone, the computer is back up and running and the workmen return tomorrow  we hope to complete the work on the basement.

Greetings to all of your family.

Love,
Sharon

E-Mail from Aunt Sandy

I just got back from a trip to St. Louis and have an Essie story for you to put in your memory bank.

I drove by the house at 6990 Edison and stopped to visit with the present owner of the house and the next door neighbor.  They both remembered Essie. Here is one story they told me.  When Essie was 61 years old and just about to marry Jim and move from the family home on Edison Avenue, she did a favor for her next door neighbor.  The neighbor locked herself out of her house and didn't know what to do.  There was an open window but, although this woman was only 30 she didn't think that she could climb up and into the window.  Of course Essie said, "no problem", grabbed a ladder, climbed to the second floor window, took the screen off, shimmed in the window, and opened the front door for the woman.  She only took about 5 minutes to complete this task.  Remember, she was 61 at the time!

More Conner-------

Conner will be NINE tomorrow

Tomorrow night we are all gathering at BeBe's house around 5:30 or so for pizza and cupcakes to CELEBRATE CONNER WILLIAM HAEMMERLE's BIRTHDAY! Come join us if you can.
