This is supposed to be delicious one of a kind chicken. They are at the State Fair every year and they do fundraisers AND CATERING!
Baked French Toast Casserole with Maple Syrup
* 1 loaf French bread (13 to 16 ounces)
* 8 large eggs
* 2 cups half-and-half
* 1 cup milk
* 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
* 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
* 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
* 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
* Dash salt
* Praline Topping, recipe follows
* Maple syrup
Directions
Slice French bread into 20 slices, 1-inch each. (Use any extra bread for garlic toast or bread crumbs). Arrange slices in a generously buttered 9 by 13-inch flat baking dish in 2 rows, overlapping the slices. In a large bowl, combine the eggs, half-and-half, milk, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt and beat with a rotary beater or whisk until blended but not too bubbly. Pour mixture over the bread slices, making sure all are covered evenly with the milk-egg mixture. Spoon some of the mixture in between the slices. Cover with foil and refrigerate overnight.
The next day, preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Spread Praline Topping evenly over the bread and bake for 40 minutes, until puffed and lightly golden. Serve with maple syrup.
Praline Topping:
* 1/2 pound (2 sticks) butter
* 1 cup packed light brown sugar
* 1 cup chopped pecans
* 2 tablespoons light corn syrup
* 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
* 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
Combine all ingredients in a medium bowl and blend well. Makes enough for Baked French Toast Casserole.
Hi! Can you tell Me, just in general terms how you make your bacon potato soup?
I'm thinking
bacon,
taters,
milk,
chicken broth,
onions,
I want your secrets...
also, spinach casserole
spinach and what else again? I don't need measurements.
You might as well tell me what makes your meatloaf so good too, I saw applesauce and oatmeal I think, prolly catsup....
Camp William was glorious! Stevie, BeBe and I arrived a 12:00 on Saturday.Kim, Jon, Chris,John and Avree were there. Tiff and Bryan and Abby and Ty pulled in shortly after we arrived. Mick, then Logann arrived and then Johnny and Hillary arrived. Hillary is very cute and nice and it was so good to see Johnny. Kim prepared a lovely summer lunch for everyone. When did she have time to make all that? Anyway, it was delish, patio salad, pasta salad, cucumber sandwiches and banana bread. After lunch Kim and Jon and I and Ty and Abby and Averee all went down to the pond. It was delightful. Hic brought us drinks and we floated and sipped. Jon played king of the floaty doc with Abby. It was really relaxing and so enjoyable.I cannot imagine a better way to spend a summer afternoon. BeBe made shrimp ramakis. Mick showed us all how to make a fire from friction it was quite impressive, let me tell you.
It was nice to hang out with Bryan and get to know him a little better. It's easy to see what Tiff sees in him. He is a very nice fellow. Tiff and Bryan just seem to "get" each other, know what I mean? Ahhh, Tiff can I blog some more about you on here? Are you uncomfortable enough yet? Ty, Abby and Averee were so much fun to be around. Averee loves Mocha A LOT. And Mocha loves Avree too. Averee whispers stuff in her ear. I don't know what, she wouldn't tell me. Abby was so cute on the little dirt bike with the BIG helmut on and Ty was just smiling and having a good time whatever he was doing and he was doing a lot, ring toss, paddle boat, corn hole. He's a pretty happy little guy. I love it! BeBe sat on the porch and drank beer like a good ole' Country Granny should. Stevie and I and Logann and Abby and Mick and Averee all went on a really muddy trail ride on the four wheelers that was a blast and we were covered in mud and got stuck and everything. And Averee and Abby both acted like it was the most normal thing in the world. I was amazed. We were really in the jungle bog blues and they just waited for Mick to figure a way to get us unstuck. And Stevie is really a good, fast driver. Really brave and gutsy. Logann splashes a lot of mud. Logann, if you were any cuter I don't know what I would do. And is their anything better than looking out on the lake and seeing John, Jon and Ty out in the boat fishing? It's so peaceful looking and Ty came back and reported that he caught a blue skill all by himself. Blue skills are the best. Christy's dinner was sooo gooood. Oh my, it was comfort food to the MAX, Really good meatloaf, like the best ever and mashed potatoes, her corn that she cooks her own way, like really hot and really long, right? And a spinach souffle dish that was sooo goood we ate it alll gooone. Oh, and And Abby made brownies. So, after dinner I think it was LRC, Lonesome Dove and then off to bed for me. Ohh, after lunch we did watch about an hour of Michael Jackson videos. And when we went to bed Logann and I ans Stevie all talked about Michael while laying in the dark until we fell asleep. Isn't laying and talking in the dark so terrifically fun? Even if it was a sad topic. I did not know him personally but I think the feeling of loss is great for everyone and I think everyone wanted that guy to be happy. I hope he was. He really seemed to love his children and I think they brought him happiness. I think so. I really do. I still have this nagging feeling that we all let little Michael Jackson down in some way. I try not to dwell on it too long because I don't want it to break my heart come true. I just try to think about him dancing and smiling and laughing. The french toast breakfast casserole Tiff made for breaky was so divine I've daydreamed about it a couple of times since. Well,I really needed to get away and it was perfect. Thank you to my whole family for making me feel included and loved. I love you all so very much!
ok so it is saturday and I am packing up the house! I am also writing this a warning that as of Monday I will not have internet access! Sooo.... Don't leave all the posting up to Silly Tally! I should be back by Wednesday though. I hope you can all survive without me.
This was the original announcement for the event. I guess, in reality I probably wouldn't to be able to afford the ticket price...but that's when I dreamed up the President of the LD fan club Power Play.

LonesomeDoveposter.jpgCalling all "Lonesome Dove" fans! Here's something that could even beat, as Gus McCrae might put it, a good poke or swift kick to a pig:
San Antonio will be the setting for a meaty, star-studded, two-day celebration of the 20th anniversary of one of TV's most beloved and successful miniseries, "Lonesome Dove."
Among those expected to attend: the man who started it all, Pulitizer Prize-winning novelist Larry McMurtry, along with the man who turned the epic book into an Emmy-winning miniseries, Bill Wittliff.
In addition, principal cast members of the 1989 mini are expected to be on hand: Tommy Lee Jones, Robert Duvall, Anjelica Huston, Diane Lane, Chris Cooper, Danny Glover, Ricky Schroder and Glenne Headley.
Every dollar raised will benefit the extraordinary Wittliff Collections at Texas State University in San Marcos.
The celebration is a while off (Oct. 2 and 3), but you may want to mark your calendars, notify your relatives and save your pennies.
Events planned include a gala party, dinner and "Lonesome Dove" symposium in Trinity University's Laurie Auditorium that will consist of two separate panel discussions with actors from the miniseries.
There may even be a San Antonio Symphony concert built around "Lonesome Dove's" haunting and majestic music.
According to the event's contact, Beverly Fondren, several of the events, including the stellar panel discussions, will be open to the public and reasonably priced.
She also said the celebration is in real need of generous supporters and underwriters. For information on how to get involved, call Beverly at (512) 245-9058 or e-mail her at b.fondren@txstate.edu.
Another heads-up: A three-year traveling exhibition of "Lonesome Dove" photographs by Wittliff is being organized in conjunction with the anniversary celebration. Many of these wistful and dramatic images, such as this one of Duvall, robertduvall.jpgwill be on display at the Witte Museum from October through March 2010.The Wittliff Collections were founded by Texas native Wittliff and his wife, Sally. They are dedicated to furthering and preserving the very best of Texas and Southwestern culture.
Among the collections' holdings are the near-complete production archives for TV's "Lonesome Dove." These include original costumes, props, set designs, screenplay drafts and film dailies representing every printed take made on set.
For more information, go to www.thewittliffcollections.txstate.edu.
IKNOW I started My Lonesome Dove BLOG so you could be relieved of these type of postings BUT!!!!!!!!!!!!! I got an actual e-mail with MY NAME ON IT from the Lonesome Dove Event Assistant. Yes I Did! AND Her name is Valerie which is a name I have always loved. So, here it is! Oh, if it were only real mail on LD Letterhead I would frame it. I'm HALF tempted to ask her to re-send it to me Via snail mail....Maybe I'll ask her a compelling question and then ask her to respond (on letterhead)tee-hee Sorry, you will NEVER be safe from Lonesome Dove postings...I did try though, to spare you, but to no avail
SO! Without further adieu...I present to you my email from Valerie, from the Lonesome Dove Headquarters at Texas State University in San Marcos Texas(Where KP went to college) my email...
Hi Kelly,
Thank you for your interest in the Lonesome Dove Reunion; we hope to set a new date as soon as we see some improvement in the economy. Everyone was disappointed that we had to postpone this year’s event, but it had become clear we weren’t going to generate the support necessary to achieve the kind of success and fundraising dollars we hoped to realize. We are confident that the support we’ve already generated will result in an even bigger and better celebration in the future!
I’ve added you to the email update list, so you’ll be among the first to hear when we go forward with our plans. You can also check back with us at http://www.thewittliffcollections.txstate.edu/ for updates as well as information on new Lonesome Dove merchandise. A special 20th anniversary edition of Bill Wittliff’s A Book of Photographs From Lonesome Dove will be available for purchase from the Collections later this summer.
Thanks again for your interest and understanding.

Did you get the part where I will be among the first to know.... Yeah, I'm kind of a big deal. I KNOW! I will write her back and tell her I am the President of the Lonesome Dove Fan Club. Cuz, I am, as long as there isn't already one that I don't know about. Must research this PRONTO because once she learns this I'm pretty sure I will be among the very first to know about any forthcoming news. You know, first the Event was cancelled and I was pretty sad and then my Beloved Farrah died and I went home last night and got prepared for an evening of Farrah news on all the news programs and then MJJ died.I did get to see the Barbara Walters special last night about Farrah and it was quite lovely. Jacqueline Smith said some very sweet things about her dear friend.
And, about the letter, I know it's a form letter, but I don't care. She DID put my name at the top and on the subject line it says Lonesome Dove on it. How cool is that?

Michael Jackson in 2005.
June 26, 2009 | CNN's coverage of Michael Jackson's sudden illness in the minutes before his death was reported captured nicely the way the media has treated him. Nutty people were allowed to talk at length, including a guy who kept saying his concerts in London were in 2010. (They were scheduled for next month.)
Wolf Blitzer looked into the camera to tell us earnestly that the head of the concert promotion company had told them that Jackson was in "tip-top shape," and that he'd passed a health exam "with flying colors."
Funny how an impossibly pampered 50-year-old guy in top-top shape could just keel over dead.

We're supposed to live in an Age of Paparazzi. Isn't it curious how stars nonetheless manage to die right before our eyes?
They do it with our complicity.
Born not just to celebrity but to stardom, Michael Jackson never knew what it was like to live normally, or even behave normally. He was drafted into the family's musical act, the Jackson 5, while in elementary school, and taken to Motown records. He was taught how to live a manufactured image at the feet of Berry Gordy, who was quite good at such legerdemain.
If you're 9 years old and born to be a star, such training will definitely turbocharge the marketing of your record sales; as for the fact that almost all the money from those sales went to your teacher and not you ... well, that was his second lesson.
Click Here
Trust, truth ... these were concepts Michael Jackson learned early on didn't have much worth. But of course he had his family, right?
His angry father beat him and his eight siblings with some determination, reputable biographers have told us. (Untrustworthy La Toya said that she and Michael were sexually molested, too.) On tour at age 10, Michael tried to sleep as his older brothers banged groupies in the motel rooms they shared. Then all the kids watched in wonder as their father took up with another woman and had a child with her.
Love, marriage, sex ... Michael Jackson learned early that those didn't mean much either. The Jackson 5 had a three-year run, not bad for a kid act. When the family, which realized it hadn't made any money, left the label, a vengeful Gordy exacted as a price not just a brother -- Jermaine, who, married to Gordy's daughter, stayed at Motown -- but even their name. When they moved to Columbia, they couldn't use the name the Jackson 5.
Michael was all of 14.
In five years he collected himself, extracted himself from his father's control and recorded two albums that would change the music industry. The best was the first: 1979's "Off the Wall," a groovy, irresistible stunner. Blithe and implacable, sparkling and protean, it displayed a lean talent, feline in his sexuality and relaxed in his blackness. The round-faced, broad-nosed charmer looking out from the album's cover reeked not just of charm but confidence and, for the last time, normality.
Three years later, "Thriller" would take what became an epochal step forward in terms of commerciality. Viewed now, with the benefit of hindsight, we can see Jackson's evolving physiognomy is symptomatic of an insecurity we didn't think to question at the time.
His celebrity's toll on his own and his family's life became considerable. For some unaccountable reason, after "Thriller" he still lived at home, as his family busied itself with intrigues and cockamamie plans. One imagines him sitting in his room ignoring the knocks at his door as offers of millions came in to the family from across the country and around the world to do just about anything -- anything, that is, that Michael would do too.
With the exception of Janet, his youngest sister, who somehow managed to extract herself and create her own extraordinary career, virtually every member of his family managed to blemish their reputations; among other things, more than one of the boys, their father's sons, were charged with beating up their girlfriends or wives.
The story from that point is a bleak and unrelieved one. Superficial things: Michael's ludicrous trappings and entourages; the fetishization of the armed militias marching around in his videos; tales of his supposed bizarre doings leaked to tabloids; the grasping grandiosity of his public appearances. Jackson had a flair for exploiting the tabloid celebrity he had, but that was a skill he shared with Anna Nicole Smith and Paris Hilton, and it probably shouldn't be listed among his unique abilities.
More serious things: mismanaged tours; declining songwriting skills; ever-more erratic album releases.
Even more serious things: an entirely transfigured physical appearance, morphing from an engaging and handsome African-American man into a misshapen Eurasian woman; his skin bleached, his face resculpted; his nose, finally, needing to be practically taped onto his face. He left his race behind and, in a sense, his family too. (The nose, which seemed to have borne the brunt of his obsession with plastic surgery, was his father's.)
The master of crossover had seemingly crossed over for good.
And finally, a black moral hole, and a descent into a double life as a sexual predator. You've heard about not taking candy from a stranger; Jackson's candy took the form of literal amusement parks. There were nights of fun and sleepovers and inappropriate touching and ...
Accusations were leveled many times; most cases were settled; one case, gone to trial, ended in an acquittal in Santa Maria in 2005.
In the obituaries, writers will savor Jackson's talents, which were unquestioned; his ambition, which was otherworldly and a thing of awe; and his heyday, which lasted really just a few years, and encompassed perhaps two and a half albums. Others will reflect on the tragedies visited upon him and those he visited on others.
I think it's fair to classify Kurt Cobain's death as one brought on by medical problems, specifically the roiling interaction of depression and addiction. Jackson's death is in this sense more purely a suicide, just as Elvis Presley's was some three decades ago. Like Presley, Jackson at some point stepped through a door, closed it, and turned the key. What went on behind the door we'll never know.
Under the title He Knew., Michael Jackson's ex-wife, Lisa Marie Presley, took to her MySpace blog to record some very touching words.
She says:
"Years ago Michael and I were having a deep conversation about life in general.
I can't recall the exact subject matter but he may have been questioning me about the circumstances of my Fathers Death.
At some point he paused, he stared at me very intensely and he stated with an almost calm certainty, "I am afraid that I am going to end up like him, the way he did."
I promptly tried to deter him from the idea, at which point he just shrugged his shoulders and nodded almost matter of fact as if to let me know, he knew what he knew and that was kind of that.
14 years later I am sitting here watching on the news an ambulance leaves the driveway of his home, the big gates, the crowds outside the gates, the coverage, the crowds outside the hospital, the Cause of death and what may have led up to it and the memory of this conversation hit me, as did the unstoppable tears.
A predicted ending by him, by loved ones and by me, but what I didn't predict was how much it was going to hurt when it finally happened.
The person I failed to help is being transferred right now to the LA County Coroners office for his Autopsy.
All of my indifference and detachment that I worked so hard to achieve over the years has just gone into the bowels of hell and right now I am gutted.
I am going to say now what I have never said before because I want the truth out there for once.
Our relationship was not "a sham" as is being reported in the press. It was an unusual relationship yes, where two unusual people who did not live or know a "Normal life" found a connection, perhaps with some suspect timing on his part. Nonetheless, I do believe he loved me as much as he could love anyone and I loved him very much.
I wanted to "save him" I wanted to save him from the inevitable which is what has just happened.
His family and his loved ones also wanted to save him from this as well but didn't know how and this was 14 years ago. We all worried that this would be the outcome then.
At that time, In trying to save him, I almost lost myself.
He was an incredibly dynamic force and power that was not to be underestimated.
When he used it for something good, It was the best and when he used it for something bad, It was really, REALLY bad.
Mediocrity was not a concept that would even for a second enter Michael Jackson's being or actions.
I became very ill and emotionally/ spiritually exhausted in my quest to save him from certain self-destructive behavior and from the awful vampires and leeches he would always manage to magnetize around him.
I was in over my head while trying.
I had my children to care for, I had to make a decision.
The hardest decision I have ever had to make, which was to walk away and let his fate have him, even though I desperately loved him and tried to stop or reverse it somehow.
After the Divorce, I spent a few years obsessing about him and what I could have done different, in regret.
Then I spent some angry years at the whole situation.
At some point, I truly became Indifferent, until now.
As I sit here overwhelmed with sadness, reflection and confusion at what was my biggest failure to date, watching on the news almost play by play The exact Scenario I saw happen on August 16th, 1977 happening again right now with Michael (A sight I never wanted to see again) just as he predicted, I am truly, truly gutted.
Any ill experience or words I have felt towards him in the past has just died inside of me along with him.
He was an amazing person and I am lucky to have gotten as close to him as I did and to have had the many experiences and years that we had together.
I desperately hope that he can be relieved from his pain, pressure and turmoil now.
He deserves to be free from all of that and I hope he is in a better place or will be.
I also hope that anyone else who feels they have failed to help him can be set free because he hopefully finally is.
The World is in shock but somehow he knew exactly how his fate would be played out some day more than anyone else knew, and he was right.
I really needed to say this right now, thanks for listening.

I had no idea.
I've already had breakfast, walked the dog, watched a movie and browsed the internet (twice) and it is still only 830! I hate it when I can't go back to sleep. I think I will shower and watch another movie. Then I am getting my car washed and going to go see The Proposal with friend Stephanie (not cousin Stephanie-- although that would be AWESOME!). That should take care of the rest of the day until Jake gets home! Happy Friday!
It is being reported that Michael Jackson is dead!!?!? Farrah Fawcett and Michael on the same day? Both of them were way to young.
So, as you all may know, I am planning on adding another pup to the fam! Mavy would love a little sister. But I am torn about whether to get a cavalier kind charles spaniel, which are known to be super friendly and get along really well with other dog, or a West Highland Terrier (aka Westie). Cavs have some potential health issues, but better personalities, while Westies are more likely to be yippy and whatnot. I need help! If I get a cav it will be black & tan or the ruby color shown above. Westies only come in white. And I want to name her Petunia! Other name suggestions are welcome.

Soo pretty though! Light Pink, hot pink, yellow and orange!
Johnny Depp leaves 4k tip for Gibsons waiter
The hottest Chicago link on Twitter today referred to Johnny Depp leaving a $4,000 tip for a waiter during a recent visit to Gibsons Bar & Steakhouse in the city. The Yahoo! Movies link was tweeted 105 times as of this post, while other Tweeters linked to the story at Examiner, Radar Online, Windy Citizen and the Chicago Sun-Times.
Per Yahoo! Movies, Depp spent about three hours at the restaurant with "Public Enemies" co-star Marion Cotillard, director Michael Mann and others. The bill reportedly came to $4,400, meaning Depp nearly doubled it. The lucky waiter was Mohammed A. Sekhani, who says he has waited on Depp before.

I could not copy this picture for some reason so follow the above link to see Johnny at the Public Enemies premier last night. Stephanie, I have to tell you the truth, Your Dad is really Johnny Depp. OMG! How Nic is this picture? I cannot wait to see this movie. I just hope it's not TOO disturbing. I don't want to have a nervous breakdown over it. I will go look for reviews!
I need to get this off my chest Kelly..here it goes "I HAVE NEVER SEEN LONESOME DOVE"
There's this guy that travels around with a laser beam
4 comments Posted by Kelly Haemmerle at 9:58 AMI was in the twilight zone last night. (More than usual)I took Conner to the plastic surgeon because he has a little broken cappaliary on his nose. It's a small red dot. Well, I didn't know what it was so I wanted it checked out and my Doc sends me to this guy. He supposedly has a laser beam machine made just for these kinds of things.That's what my Doc told us and we've been speculating about this machine ever since, how big is it? What do you think it looks like? Does it make a noise? What color is it? So, we go there and the receptionst obviously works for free botox injections and dermabrasion treatments. I'm not judging, I'm just sayin'. And so then the doc comes in and he's like Kevin Spacy or something. You know how Kevin Spacy has this weird, look and vibe. And He'a botox, collagen trainwreck on top of it. I've never seen these things in real person so I can barely look at these peoples eyes. Or concentrate on what they're saying. Anyway, so the Doctor starts talking to Conner and now Conner is acting like a weird Kevin spacey character too.
DOC; So do you take any medications?
CONNER;(slowly)Well, what do you mean by medications?.
DOC: Do you take any medicine?
CONNER: What kind of medicine? (again slowly)
DOC: Do you take any pills?
CONNER: Just looks at him and turns his head to the side like a puppy would do.(LIKE WTF?)I think He's thinking what does this have to do with a laser beam? Let's get to the laser beam, the reason I'm here in the first place.
DOC: Can you swallow pills?
CONNER: Yes, I can swallow pills alright.(Now He's thinking,Is the lase beam IN the pill?)
DOC: I'm impressed, I was 15 before I could do that.
I'm thinking.(Glad we got that settled)
ANYWAY, let's move forward.
DOC:(looks at Conner's little red spot on his cute little nose) And say's
Well, there's a man that travels around with a laser beam and he used to come here once a month but now he doesn't stop by here anymore because we just didn't have enough of this kind of work.(Now I'm in the movie Paper Moon) Then He say's Now, there's another option and that is "The poor man's laser beam."(Now I'm in the Movie Oh Brother where art Thou) Well, Conner thought this sounded like it was right up his alley, until he heard that a poor mans laser beam is actually a hot metal stick. Anyway, it was weird and the little red dot on his cute little nose stays for now. I am still imagining the guy with a big laser beam machine in his back seat.(convertible?) Kevin Spacey with a funny little moustache and a white coat also said he could cut it out with a knife to which Conner replied "no way!" ANd He also said He's have to put Conner asleep because if He looked at the laser beam he would go blind. Conner had a dream about the laser beam the night before. Turns out reality was weirder than the dream. do do do do (twilight music)Conner did say that the guy with the white hair in back to the future was in his dream. We were so glad to be out of there we had to go to Starbucks and have two tall vanilla bean frappacinos. That made it all better. On the way home Conner made up a song like this; I'm gonna make a proclamation about the Nation at the location of Penn Station about the sensation of education. Isn't that good? Sounds like School House of Rock doesn't it?

Plants That Will Get Rid Of Mosquitoes
There are several plants you can plant in your yard or garden to get rid of mosquitoes. And these plants work very well.
1. Catnip
2. Rosemary
3. Marigolds
4. Citronella Grass also known as lemon grass.
5. Lemon Thyme
All of these plants will work very well to keep away mosquitoes. If you plant a combination of them you should not have any mosquito problems at all. Marigolds will also keep other insect pests out of your yard and garden.
Herbs 101
To get rid of flying insects including mosquitoes plant basil in pots on your porch and in your yard and garden. Most flying insects can not stand basil in any way. It will keep them completely away.

Before embarking on your personal branding journey, here are a few questions that will help you learn more about yourself, what you want to do and steer you on the right path to success:
1. If you could do one thing for the rest of your life what would it be?
2. What was your favorite class in college?
3. Who is your rolemodel and what makes him or her so great?
4. Describe yourself using 5 attributes (ex. intelligent, vocal, brave)?
5. Name 3 strengths and 3 weaknesses that you have.
6. How have people labeled me in the past?
7. Am I passionate about my current job/career path?
LADIESSS:
Do you think that people should brand themselves? Or do you think you should only do this if you are a career person? Tori? Have you branded yourself as a Nurse? Or Logann perhaps as an aspiring artist? Or do you think that these brands develop naturally? Do you think it's superficial to try to develop a personal brand or do you think that it is smart? Would you feel like you really knew a person if they had developed their persona methodically? The thing about branding is you must be consistent and wouldn't that be hard to uphold? Politicians, Celebrities and Salesmen are concerned with branding but should soccer moms and whole families also consider what they want their brand to be?... Discuss...please...somebody *I hear the crickets*
Hollah! Where is everyone? Tori and I are doing the majority of posting these days and we need a little more to go on. Even a short note from someone would probably inspire us for days! Come on Now, say something, anything.
Tori Ann,
Could you please invite your Dad to become a Calrk Girl. He seems to be having trouble signing on and thought as administrator you could help him out.
So I have been packing my little heart out all weekend! We don't have much left except for the basics and a few stray boxes that still have to be filled. I don't really mind moving. I think Jake does. Although my idea of packing is a little different than Jake's (surprised?). I throw everything in a box, sometimes it makes sense and sometimes it doesn't! But I figured I may want to organize things differently in the new house, so it doesn't really matter if I am that organized right now! I mean I can throw in a few stray things here and there. Jake is quite the opposite. He wants everything standing upright and precisely in order. BLAhBlahbLah! He doesn't leave an inch of space in these boxes and no stray items either, everything must belong to the same sort of category. Lawsy mercy! Just toss it in and we'll throw it all on the floor when we get there and have a party stashing it away! haha. Needless to say, he thought it was necessary to repack a few of my boxes, which is just more work for him. I took to packing my boxes more secretively so he wouldn't have to be apalled and I taped them up quickly. Phew! We've already been eating out a ton and I have no doubt that is what is in store for most of this week.
I don't have any plans all week except to rest, relax and study for my test. I take it on Thursday! I have planned to go ahead and treat myself to a pre-NCLEX manicure and pedicure. I almost never get manis because it always chips in like 2 hours and then my cuticles hurt. owy. no phone. But I am going to see if maybe I have changed my mind abou that. Plus, I need an excuse to pamper myself. My test is at 2 so I should have plenty of time to get beautified, lunch and maybe make a final trip to my favy store Pangea. lalalala. I want to pick up something for the next house, a little taste of Nashville. They once had a killer clock there that had angels wings and it said "time flies" i really wanted it. I hope they have one. I feel it could complete my next house. Regardless, it will definitely have to be something whimsical.
Oh, I am also wearing false eyelashes. On my right eye i have a patch of little stubby eyelashes, that somehow got so tiny. I noticed it months ago (like cruise time) and they had started growing back out and then all of a sudden, they are super stubby again. Which is super annoying. I am obsessed with eyelashes really. I love Katy Perry's. So I've thrown on a few falsies to boost my self-esteem and make applying my mascara more enjoyable.
Oh, and I will absolutely have to be wearing something super comfy on test day. I don't want clothing to get in the way of my test taking concentration. I'm thinking black leggings (you can never go wrong there) and a basic white vneck tee (again, can't go wrong) and bring a zip up hoodie for backup in case it gets cold. Maybe my plaid button-up, I just don't know. And I was thinking flipflops, to show off my new pedi, but I sure hope my feet don't get cold which would just be a distraction. But I def need to see my mani and pedi for confidence boosting purposes. Oh, decisions decisions. Life is rough ;)
Matthew McConaughey is expecting another baby. His lil rascal Levi is soo presh. I hope he has a girl, but I could def see him with all boyssssss.
Did anyone go and see it?? It was number one, which is no surprise.
New Pics! Jennifer Aniston was snapped on the set of her new movie 'The Baster.'
The film follows a single 40-year-old woman who becomes so desperate to have a child that she turns to a turkey baster to impregnate her.
Aniston's costars include Jason Bateman and Jeff Goldblum. The movie is scheduled to release sometime next year.
IS THIS EVEN TRUE? OR IS IT A JOKE?
Well, it's really Johnny..but it looks more like Elisha

What a beautiful Day! Church was awesome! I got up and spoke about Uncle George and played his CD for everyone. It was pretty cool. We washed Mike's truck for him inside AND out. We all worked together to make a really nice dinner. Steaks on the grill, asparagus, salad, baked potatoes, apple pie.
And I just want to say that Mike is such a wonderful Father to all three of his children. And they are all so different in so many ways. But He can handle it because He's Mike and He's just super awesome like that. Mike is everyone's touchstone in our family. Sometimes I think I would just spin off into outer space without him.(I know, right?) He's my anchor, my rock and my BFF.
Well, You don't have to ask me twice. But, I don't know where to begin.. at all. Oh yes I do.
Yesterday we were putting Conner's new socks and boxers that BeBe bought him in his new dresser and He asked me if I knew how Papa folded his socks and boxers because he wanted to do his the same.
THEN,
Yesterday He asked BeBe what she called Poppa and she said she called him Bill. Conner said "Happy Father's Day Bill!" And walked out of the kitchen.
And then last night we were looking at some pictures of Poppa and Conner said."I wish we could all live forever, Mom."
NOW...
About Hirsh, You are right Tori, Your Dad is really a CAREful and thoughtful father. He's so good at considering his Children's personalities, feelings and needs. And, He does it so quietly and naturally.
My Dad was very patient and had faith in people. He was really good at putting things to you in a way that you would remember. There was a great beauty about him. He loved his job. He had an understanding of human nature that made you want to spend time with him. He was a calm person with great insight on a wide variety of topics. He loved history but I would say that his intelligence was of the emotional kind. It was a gift that he had that he could tell if you were a well meaning person or not. He could tell if your priorities were straight. He could tell what you had on your mind. It was as if he could read you somehow. And then he would take it one step further and decide if you were going to be able to work it out on your own or if you needed a nudge. He was a teacher but a gentle teacher. He was a gentleman. He had his opinions but gave people their space. It's a rare and beautiful combination of wisdom and patience and love that he possessed. He was a person that valued the truth and didn't shy away from the realities of life. He was not ruled by his emotions but he understood them. It was like he knew what he wanted to say to you but would hold it until the perfect time. And in doing so it made a greater impact. He was smart and he enjoyed people and life and music and food. He had a great and unique sense of humor. He made me feel loved and cherished. He told me I was smart. He watched me go down wrong paths and waited for me to turn around and come back and his quiet patience told me that he knew I would figure it out on my own eventually. I really love him and I really miss him. He was and continues to be a great source of strength for me. He was unlike anyone else I've ever met.He was genuine and funny and tall and classy.Not only did he love me but he liked me even though he knew what my character flaws were. He never gave up on me (that I know of)He'd say, "Kelly, if you walk around in dog shit you're going to get it on your boots!" That sort of sums up what he was dealing with and how he chose to handle it. I'm a slow learner but I am a very thorough learner. I understand what shit covered boots means now in a way that most can only dream of.
girls, me and john are leaving in a few minutes to see wicked at the murat
i'm so stoked (THAT DOSEN'T MEAN STONED DOES IT?)
Happy Father's day! I am surrounded by awesome Father's, most especially my own! My dad is super awesome, you all probably know him too, Jon Hirschfeld! I am sure it is not easy for a dad with two sons make to make his daughter feel special and included but my dad was always good at that. I mean, you have to be a pretty awesome dad to be willing to take you daughter shopping, like mine has on numerous occasions. He also taught me a lot about the guy things, like working on the mustang, or making me cut the grass, riding 4-wheelers, fixin' up rental properties (not saying I necessarily enjoyed this) although I never did give in and go on a hunting/fishing trip, but that never stopped him from asking. I also appreciate my dad working so hard so my mom could stay home with us (not an easy job!!) and I hope I can do that for my family one day too!
Can you guys tell us some stuff about Papa? I wish I knew him better, so let's celebrate him on Father's day!
Ok! So I don't want to jump to any conclusions but last night Bradley Cooper and Jen Anistion had something that looks quite like a date night. Oooooh! I wish they were a couple. Bradley Cooper is HOT!!!!!! We just saw him in the Hangover, but he has also been in Failure to Launch, He's Just Not that Into you, Wedding Crashers, etc. What is really funny is we all know Jen used to be married to a Brad, and believe it or not, Bradley (cooper, not pitt), used to be married to a Jennifer! How wild is that. Oh, but I do believe that are the perfect match (after the original brad and jen of course). and he is def a step up from John Mayer, gross.
Conner rode his bike to see Will & Ann last night. His first big bike ride on his own. He got a tour. And he got to play fetch with Drake. He called will and said "Do you happen to be at your house?" and will said yes so Conner said, 'I'll be there in a few seconds." and hung up.
Dansko's are famous for all day footwear and are super popular in the healthcare world. They have a world class rep for keeping your feet comfy all day long, espesh for those of us who work 12 hour shifts! I really want these, but I don't know if they are too out there. Most peeps have black or brown and the wildest I have seen is red patent leather. Plus, I am not sure they will go with blue scrubs (which is what I have to wear). And I mean like this color blue, bleh (see pic). One more things, these retail at 120 bucks, but it might be worth it, foot massages don't come free ya know!
Although I do think this is a cute scrub top, and the blue isn't THAT awful, I guess. See I just don't think they are gonna mesh though, hmmm... big dilemma obviously!

So, if there really is going to be a 20th anniversary of Lonesome Dove symposium in San Antonio and I am president of the fan club I will probably need to go. And when they see my blog I will probably get to kick a pig or something.

BOO! I love the flower you painted and put on Mom's gift bag.Oh my gosh! You are a genius with color! So vibrant! Beautiful. Nicely done. I can't wait to see more where that came from.
