i am so far behind on my daily popsugar dose it is not even right!! Plus, I haven't even watched any of my shows!! what is a girl to do!
Omg it has been an absolutely crazy weekend. But crazy good, not crazy bad. So we closed on our house in Friday and it was fab! We came right over and I began painting the guest room and Jake's office. Dan Brownlee stopped by and then we got our new master bedroom carpet installed! After that Jake rented a UHaul to pick up our stuff from his office and when he returned with his dad, mick, shelby, kim and jon were all there to help unload. Luckily with all the help it didn't take long at all! Then Kelli Vieke showed up to feed us all pizza which was much needed. We headed back to mom and dad's to sleep. We woke up early Saturday to get back to the house and wait for our brand new mattresses to arrive. Meemaw and peepaw also stopped by for a visit and were very helpful in getting some boxes unloaded. We saw the vieke's again and mom and dad and maverick finally made it and he just absolutely ran around the back yard like it was the best thing ever and my little heart melted! haha! I know right! Mom made chili and we just ran about. Megan also stopped by and the brownlee's. It was such an awesome night I had to run out and buy a fire pit so we could enjoy it on our back porch and Will and Ann came by which was nice. We slept wonderfully on our new bed and woke on Sunday and I made breakfast! Then we ran to Menard's to pick up two new toilets which Jake installed today, as well as crawled around the crawl space running wires and what not. Bobbi and mom came by and my favorite Stevie and she brought me an awesome house-warming piggy! It is precious! And it is on my mantel! Then we all decided our time would be most wisely spent shopping! It was quite the success. And oh my mercy that just about rounds up the day. Now I am sad that I have to go work the next three days and can't play/work in my new house. Lots still to be done, but I am loving it none-the-less! We have our first overnight visitors coming this weekend so it must be ready! We are hopefully getting the laminate wood flooring put in on Thursday or Friday!!!! I will post more when I can! Come and visit anytime!
Stephanie “Stevie” Clark-Gaither / Junior / Noblesville High School
For a while, I kind of started trends at school. In seventh grade, I was into wearing five shirts at a time—layering—and then soon after, it kind of caught on. Then I did the whole leggings thing, and that came in, too.
I really like Vera Wang and Chanel. More classic styles. I also like Urban Outfitters and Anthropologie and thrift stores—vintage-y looks. I just bought two really cool dresses at Target by one of the GO International designers. One is a black strapless dress; the other one has stripes and ruffles. Sometimes my looks are kind of outrageous, and I know people say things that are not very nice, but I get over it.
I sometimes exaggerate looks I see. I get some of my ideas from watching Gossip Girl. I also watch Gilmore Girls. The fashion isn’t incredible, but I’ve pulled a lot from it. I read Teen Vogue and regular Vogue. I try not to get too attached to clothes, but I do have some homecoming and prom dresses that I really love. They’re my friends.
What would surprise adults All the skater kids are now the popular kids. Right now, it’s their time to reign.
Future plans Traveling—a lot of traveling. And I’d love to open my own store in Noblesville.
So, Brad Pitt has been quoted lately by different sources sounding like a complete horses *#%. And I just don't know what to do about it. I cannot find it within myself to not love him. It's like going into the grocery store with your keys and some cash in your hand and getting to the cart and realizing you have no pockets. (?)You know, the keys and money will fall through the seat of the cart and you can't push the cart with this stuff in your hands. That's how I feel about Brad. Probably I've been in denial. Or maybe he's just going through a rough patch. Yeah, that's it. Or Maybe Logann has been right all along. (ding, ding, ding) Is that your final answer? NO!Or maybe it's the press turning on him? Prolly not. So, I just don't know what to do with this new feeling. Maybe I just need to pipe down. sO, HERE'S WHAT HE SAID. He said He doesn't believe in God. Which I guess doesn't make him a bad guy but it doesn't make Me think he's all that great either. And then He said that Tom Cruis's Movie Valkryie was ridiculous. And I never even saw that movie, but, I don't know, I just don't like the word ridiculous. It's like rolling your eyes. Calling someone or their work ridiculous make you sound like a pompus %#@. And Movie stars talking about religion or their lack of it makes them sound shallow and self absorbed. Oh My gosh, did I just say that? Who am I? So, if Brad Pitt can't be my hero anymore, I guess I will live. Anyway, I'm sorry I said pompus &*# twice, oh three times now.(sorry 1 horses, 2 pompuss) I should go back and edit this.(I did, kinda) What if Brad reads it? eeeek. It is on the world wide web. Maybe Angelina will be like "Hey Brad, check this out, even Kelly of Noblesville who's loved you since a river ran through it thinks you need to simmer down with your bad self." Hopefully that's how it will go and he's not getting these bad manners from her. Surely not! If Brad falling from grace is a new revelation then not loving Angelina is surely impossible. That would be like trying to sleep with a bra on.(??) sorry.
So, anyway, can I just tell you that I had the most wonderful weekend! The Football Game friday night was home town fun at it's best, even though we lost. Then Conner's game on Saturday was super fun, even though we lost and then I made Gumbo for dinner and it was delish and then we watched IRON MAN. Then on Sunday after church we made chili, because it was perfect weather for it. And we slept with the windows open. And we watched Second Hand Lions.(and ate home made chocolate chip cookies)
At the heart of "Secondhand Lions" is a brief snippet of another wonderful speech given by Robert Duvall as Hubb McCann...
Quote:
"Sometimes the things that may or may not be true are the things a man needs to believe in the most. That people are basically good. That honour, courage, and virtue mean everything; that power and money, money and power mean nothing. That good always triumphs over evil. And I want you to remember this... that love... true love never dies! Remember that boy, remember that. Doesn't matter if it is true or not, a man should believe in those things, because those are the things worth believing in. Got that?"
Wow, what an experience. I went to my first auction ever today and it was a BLAST! It was two model homes being closed out. So we showed up before hand to scope out all the pieces and they had everything from books, accessories and lamps, to complete bedroom sets and couches. It was great fun. So we scoped out a few things and came up with our top bids and waited for the fun to begin. First off, some people got some amazing deals. Twin headboard for 10$, and dining room table and chairs for 100$. Some things went for dirt cheap. I ended up winning and a giant frame and print for just $20 dollars and a really cool eggplant purple sitting chair for my guest room for $45. Then, I couldn't believe it, I realized they match almost perfectly. So it was meant to be. We put some bids in on some mattresses and lamps and whatnot, but most of them went out of our max-bid range. I really wanted this awesome bust, but it went for too much and I figured I could probably find one myself. There is another model home close out auction Sept 26th if anyone wants to join the fun!
Saturday Jake and I shopped the entire earth looking at flooring and all that sort of fun stuff. It made me absolutely exhausted. I cannot believe we get our house on Friday! You are all welcome to stop by, although we probably won't be staying the night on Friday, since we don't get our new mattress until Saturday.
I worked all day Friday, so I didn't do too much, when I got ome Jake and I had another date night in the basement. we watched The Breakup and ate popcorn while it rained. Quite fun.
Now for my movie reviews. On Thursday I went to see The Time Traveler's Wife with Megan and our friend Courtney, for Meg's bday. It was good, but not as good as the previews, I would say. It was very romantic though and I liked it, but you could probably settle for a rental. I of course love Rachel McAdams, but I will have to say I thought The Notebook was better, although it is pretty hard to beat. And I cried. No surprise there. Then on Saturday, me, Stevie, Jamie and Jake went to go and see Post Grad, with Alexis Bledel, aka Rory from Gilmore Girls. I looooved it. It was so cute. Michael Keaton was in it too and he was hysterical. All in all I was very glad I got to see it and it exceeded my expectations. I feel like I have seen something else, but probably not so I guess that wraps up my movie reviews for this weekend. Steph got to see 500 Days of Summer, which she said was good, but I haven't had a chance to see yet. hmm.. work and moving just in the way of my movie-going sometimes.
And can you guys believe Ty had another bday!! 6 years old! My my my, how time flies. When he told me he was turning six, I had to do my math, because it seemed too old. My little monkey boy is going to be 16 before we know it! Hopefully Tiffer will post some bday pics! Hope everyone is enjoying the cool weather and it stays nice for our move over the weekend!
OK EVERYONE, I NEED SOME BIG TIME PRAYERS...PAN JANKOWSKI'S HUSBAND DICK IS VERRY VERY SICK. HE FELL AND HIT HIS HEAD WHICH CAUSED HIS BRAIN TO START BLEEDING. HE IS AT METHODIST HOSPITAL AND HE IS STRUGGLING. THEY THINK THAT HE MIGHT ALSO HAD A STROKE. HE IS ON CARINGBRIDGE.ORG THANKS WE ALL LOVE PAMMY
BOTTOM HANGING DOWN
Movies rule my life. And “Dances With Wolves” left an indelible impression. I love that movie so much. The music. The scenery. The struggle. The story.
I love the characters.
Kicking Bird. Oh, how I love Kicking Bird.
Stands With a Fist.
Wind in His Hair.
Smiles a Lot.
Dances With Wolves.
Movies. They’ve always profoundly dictated my thinking. I apply them to all of life’s situations; I simply can’t help it.
On another note, I still haven’t solved the peace-shattering mystery of Stands With a Fist’s shoulder length, layered hairdo. I wrote about it back in 2006 and I’m still plagued. I’m still angry. I know some have suggested that she cut her hair because she was mourning the death of her husband, but I don’t buy it. The layers are too symmetrical, the teasing too perfect, and it screams Early 1990’s.
Kevin was the director. Why didn’t he do something? Why didn’t he intervene?
It may be the only thing separating me from true happiness.
But at least Wind in His Hair’s final cries to Dances With Wolves redeem it all for me:
“Dances With Wolves! … Dances With Wolves! … I am Wind In His Hair! … Do you see that I am your friend!? … Can you see that you will always be my friend!?”
Boy, is that scene a killer. It’s one of the great tearjerking scenes of all time.
I’m crying at my desk on a Thursday morning.
My friend Emily, again, later in the season parked across from this lovely bunch. And I do mean lovely because this time there's a bonafide cowboy in the mix, and he's tall. And that ain't all. They locked their tix and keys in the car just like the rascall flatts gang from before. But Cowboy grabbed a trailer hitch and broke out the window in true cowboy style. Emily said he didn't hesitate one bit. Whack! And the girls reaction is priceless. Don't you just love the Polar Pops and note the chairs in the back of the pick up. Isn't summer fun?
Our tailgaiting entertainment...three drunk girls = lots of laughs!
Q: How many drunk girls does it take to kick in a trunk to unlock the car?
A: Three!
1. The "Kicker" who also managed to explode a
bottle of water all over herself while kicking her
way into the car
2. The "Unlocker" situated in the trunk with her can
of hairspray making sure her hair doesn't get
messed up.
3. The "Squatter" who locked the keys in the car,
but doesn't help to get it unlocked prefering to
lean on the side of the car cheering them on
while she pees for the FOURTH
time!
My friend Emily went to the Rascal Flatts Concert this summer at Verizon and these peeps were parked across the way. Great opening act+free entertainment
I love breakfast. This afternoon I am going to Mexican to celebrate megan's birthday, so I tried not to overdo it, I originally said I wasn't going to eat breakfast, but I was so hungry. I'm always hungry in the morning. So I had a piece of bacon (Thanks mom!), OJ, vanilla yogurt and 4 fresh strawberries. This was a brand new breakfast for me. Never had this combo before. The yogurt and strawberries were especially delightful.
Project Runway starts again tonight and I cannot wait. I just love Heidi Klum. It is on Lifetime if you want to watch!
Today I blew out my tire. Apparently, not so long ago, Jake vehemently warned me about the giant curb at the corner of field dr and SR 19. And I vehemently replied that I wasn't dumb I knew there was a giant curb there. Anyway, today I proceeded to completely nail it while Jake was not but one car in front of me. UGH. My car started making a funny noise and and so I pulled over to see a giant 2 inch gash in my now flat tire. Greeeaaat. Mick is in the passenger seat laughing at the fact that jake is going to kill me (although he promised to wait until September 1st, which is when our life insurance kicks in... how thoughtful). Of course, I step out of the car to survey the damage and it decides to start raining, and quickly turns into a downpour. All the better, I think. So luckily Jake saved the day and changed my tire for me, but now my day tomorrow will consist of getting it fixed. How fun!
Before all of that happened, I stopped by the redbox and mcdonald's this morning and rented 17 Again. It is a good movie. I took it over to bebe's becuase I thought she would like it and we watched it and laughed. it was a good time. I then returned it and went home. Then me, jake and mick decided to go to buffalo wild wings for dinner, which was delicious, but led to said tire popping. O well. It made Jake's day to say "I told you so" which is fine by me, Iguess ;)
I like the rain. Although I didn't like it while I was getting soaking wet looking at my flat tire. But now I am home in my sweats, with a full belly and cozy.
I’ve always loved Ga-Ga’s hand’s. Her nails. Her petite, thin fingers. Her rings.
When I was a little girl, I used to curl up on Ga-Ga’s lap, hold her hands and say, “Ga-Ga? When you die, will you leave me all your rings?”
I wasn’t concerned with the material value. At least…at least I hope I wasn’t. Yeah. Yeah, I’m pretty sure I wasn’t. I just always connected Ga-Ga’s rings to her fingers…which were connected to her hands…which always held and patted and hugged me and gave me baths in her kitchen sink (not after I graduated from high school, though. I had to grow up sometime.) Her hands fixed me sliced peaches in parfait glasses and squirted Reddi-Whip all over the top, and they turned the TV channel to Mary Tyler Moore and Bob Newhart. And they rubbed Vicks Vapor Rub on my neck and chest if I ever so much as cleared my throat.
And that’s why I always wanted to make sure she planned to leave me her rings. Because then I’d always have a part of her with me. Because even as a little girl I knew I could never, ever imagine life without her.
So when Ga-Ga came over to my house Saturday afternoon and rested her beautiful hands on a chair in the kitchen, I made a point of capturing them with my camera.
“I love your hands, Ga-Ga,” I said.
She looked at her hands and laughed quietly. “Do you know why my hands look like this?” she asked me.
“Arthur Itis?” I asked. It’s the kind of joke only the daughter of an orthopedic surgeon appreciates.
“No,” Ga-Ga answered. “It’s because I’ve been down many a road in my life. And not all of them were paved.”
Then I laughed. Then I hugged her.
I couldn’t possibly love a person more.
I spilled breast milk all over myself today at work. Not only did it explode all over me, but a mom and her baby too. She was nice enough to just laugh. I was so embarrassed. Oh, Well. Just another day in the life of a nurse.

Well I have been unable to blog due to working the weekend! I worked Saturday and Sunday which is fine, because it is usually pretty slow and easy, which I can't complain about. The biggest news in my life since then has been getting an iPhone! Yes! It is so phone. The only downer is I can access the blog, but I can't figure out how to create a new blog yet. Which is a total bummer, because then I could be bloggin 24/7. I guess I will just have to settle for reading the blog 24/7. It is really fun and I have been adding pictures of people in my contacts so that I can see their shining faces when they call. Mostly been stealing the pics off facebook, because it is easier than searcing through my bamillion pics. I got a really good one for Stevie's, she's so photogenic! Anyway, I can surf the web, get instant popsugar updates, check my email I can hardly stand it! I can play games too! All from the palm of my hand. Plus, I of course, just a pink case for it! I couldn't settle for anything less.
Today I had the day off, so I of course got a mountain dew slushie while I ran some errands. I stopped by Bebe's and then picked up a new scrub top. It has the Paul Frank monkies (Julius, I think is his name) on it. It's cute. I figured the babies would like it. I posted a pic of the monkies. I don't have those boxers, although I think I would like some. Guess what else? We move into our new a week from Friday!! Sad news is we don't get our new mattress until Saturday! But I am just happy to have a new mattress! Hallelujah!
I also bought the South Beach Diet book tonight. Jake and I are going to start it after we move into our new house. New beginnings and all. My goal is to lose 20 lbs. We'll see. It is a pretty hefty goal, but it is where I need to be if I want to reach an ideal body weight for my height. hmph. It'll be good though. But no soda, which will be very sad.
I have to go back to work tomorrow. But think of me in my new scrub top, holding babies! Miss everyone! Oh! I also want to plan a trip to Savvy. Maybe in the spring, when Lo has no soccer? tell me what you think.
Uhmmm, How Ya'll doin? I'm doin' good. I'm at work, but having a hard time concentration on my work today for some reason. Probz because my boss is out. Must I be forever FIVE years old? Geez Louise! Someone told a story in church on Sunday (A good story about someone doing something amazingly nice for another person) and this man, his name is Squeak was sitting in his pew with his wife Betty and everyone was saying oh isn't that wonderful, and Squeak said "forevermore" I thought I was gonna fall down. I LOVE it when people say stuff like that. Grandma Gracie used to say "well goodnight" when exclaming about something that had just happened. Bob opened up an envelope with money in it and said "my land". I completly freeze when this happens like stop did you hear that old timey saying? People at Church say stuff like this all the time and I have got to start documenting it because I love it so. Bob(Pastor) said something like "Well, that's just like slowly boiling a frog." and Edward and Mike and I all three were doubled over laughing. We're like, what is he talking about. And then Paulette got up there and said that she had a little duty to do every Sunday at church when she was little. i don't know what it was because when she said she had a little duty Mike and I started laughing again.(Have you seen the episode of Friends when what's his face is at a job interview and the guy keeps saying duty over and over again. Monica's brother, what's his face. Anyway, Yeah, I'm forever FIVE years old. It's true. Forevermore. Oh and paulette will say. Let me tell you, Kid. Or , I tell you ,Kid, I had a little duty or whatever the story is that day. Aunt Mary used to call everyone Kid. I just love, love it. Oh and then Victoria(she's 3 or 4) was chasing Conner around. She looks like Darla on the little Rascals (or Elizabeth Taylor) but talks like Shirley Temple and she said, Well Conner, I was just trying to hug and kiss you, I was just loving on you cause I love you. Man,thats good stuff. And I said, well, goodnight.
Kourtney and Khloé Take Miami is mindless, shameless, and well worth watching.
By Troy PattersonPosted Thursday, Aug. 13, 2009, at 8:27 PM ET
Kourtney & Khloé Take Miami
In these days of pseudo-celebrity and rampant vapidity, of self-objectification and professional narcissism, of commodified sex and degraded love on every channel—in these days of what a friend terms the death of culture—it is healthy every now and then to cry uncle, sit back, and appreciate the mindless pleasures that the apocalypse has to offer. In such a spirit of giggling capitulation do I recommend Kourtney and Khloé Take Miami (E!, Sundays at 10 p.m. ET), a reality show about frivolity, sorority, and the bikini bottoms of South Beach.
The heroines are Kourtney and Khloé Kardashian. It is common to say that people like Kourtney and Khloé are "famous for being famous." False! They are primarily famous for being the sisters of Kim Kardashian, the callipygian model-actress and sex-tape starlet. However, Kourtney and Khloé have stayed famous by simply being famous, and that is its own achievement. The three girls' shared aesthetic mingles red-carpet sultry and hip-hop vampy. Somehow one feels that a Kardashian is most in her element wearing white jeans under a black light in a VIP room. They're confident enough never to let good taste stand in the way of making a big impression. They co-own a boutique called Dash, which sells boring dresses at a number of different price points. Its Web site also sells spring water: "Inside, there is a picture of your favorite Dash sisters imprinted on the bottle!" $8.
The premise or pretense of Kourtney and Khloé Take Miami involves the two opening a second boutique in North America's most refined and subdued metropolitan area. "Single sisters in Miami," one says to the camera. "We're in party city," says the other, as if completing the pitch. The girls blur together whenever they're explicitly promoting themselves, which is about half the time, but it's otherwise pretty easy to keep Kourtney and Khloé straight. Kourtney, slighter and softer, is the nondiva, merely a darling piglet among camera hogs. Khloé is the drama queen. Her other gig in Miami is hosting a late-night radio show. Given her vivid shamelessness and her keen reluctance to shut up, she promises to be a hit.
The central conflict in Sunday's episode concerns a visit that sister Kim is making to Miami to promote the store. Initially, Khloé is cheesed off that Kim that is not making like a team player. "Kim is busy working on her personal brand," she says, rolling her eyes with her whole body, clearly disgruntled that her own brand is still in gestation. We have to wait a scene or two to see the van that Khloé's radio station has tricked out to promote her show. In its rendering of her face, she's got footwide eyelashes that look like they've been slathered in pine tar and a finger up to her pout. The Khloé brand is steamy, so steamy as to suffocate.
Tensions between Kim and Khloé come to a head at a prelaunch meeting with the boutique's Miami publicists. Khloé, unable to bear it that Kim's appearance at the launch party is good PR, behaves with tremendous petulance. Kim, unwilling to be the target of such crankiness, calls Khloé stupid. Kourtney, trying to find a way to act as a mediator, fidgets with her phone, a BlackBerry that sets off her manicure nicely. The producers, wanting us to believe it possible that Kim might actually skip town before the party, present a scene in which Kim Kardashian packs her luggage to go back to California. For my money, a scene depicting an attractive, empty celebrity packing her bags is what reality TV is all about. Watch her folding the T-shirts with care, then sling the four-figure Louboutin boots on top. Glamour, banality, voyeurism, excess. It's all rather purple, a lovely lurid sunset.
This here is Pioneer Woman's back yard. Like it? Big ain't it? Well, this is the deck off of the lodge. She is out shopping today trying to decide how to decorate said deck. And her bff is redorating her living room which is pretty exciting too, I think, but nothing like this beautiful, beautiful cowboy world Pioneer Woman inhabits. So, anyway, I like it all bare and stark but I'm sure it would be nice to have furniture and what not. What will she do? I cant wait to see!
Eleanor Rozella’s, a boutique in downtown Noblesville, has been chosen by TOMS shoes as the first store in Indiana to carry the TOMS brand of footwear. TOMS can only be purchased in select stores in the U.S. and foreign markets. They have become very popular due to the quality of the shoes and the company’s commitment to giving back. TOMS shoes was founded on a simple premise…for every pair of TOMS purchased, a pair of new shoes will be given to a child in need.
“I called them after seeing one of their commercials on television and asked if we could become a distributor,” said Tammy Daubenspeck, a partner in Eleanor Rozella’s.“They called back after reviewing our community and company benevolence and said we were a perfect fit.” Eleanor Rozella’s recently received their first shipment of TOMS and the shoes are now available for purchase at the boutique.
How do I get Conner signed up for Boy Scouts of America? He went to a meeting once but I never heard back from the leader about when to meet. Is there a headquarters in our town or is it a County wide program?
Mike and Conner are going to the Colts game tonight! They are playing the Vikings! And that is the name of Conner's FB Team. Tomorrow morning is the pancake breakfast at Dillon Park. I heard Mike Davis will be flippin' flapjacks.
Steph bought a squishy handled hair brush last night at Meijer. Yeah Baby!
the old people on your church blog are funny. especially hubert. his face in that pic is priceless. god bless em for sweating out so many years together. I hope they get a few more!
1. I remember Aunt Sandy's wedding, but I think it's only because of the pictures we have. But I still can't figure out why she got married in Indiana? Or maybe she didn't, someone help me out here.
2. I remember Mom and Dad's 25th Wedding Anniversary (Surprise Party) Once again, without the pictures I'm not sure how much I would remember)
3. Christy & John's Wedding! Thank goodness for picture albums! I wonder if I would know who I am if my picture wasn't on my license.
4. Antelope Club Picnics (Christy competing in all activities, and mostly winning)
5. We went to some big Oktoberfest Downtown. KiKi I think you were there. Lowenbrau was a big sponser and there were big tents and long tables. KiKi I think you wore a plad skirt and knee socks and loafers and you danced. Okay, my memory is random and detailed or nothing I guess.
6. Christy & Johns little house (first house?) And there was a greek bakery in the strip mall next door. I have instant recall of every inch of that house and all the fun we had there!
7. KiKi taking me to work with her to all the courthouses around Indiana and looking at all those cool old smelly big books.
8. Kings Island
9. Florida/Sunburn/Swiss Vanilla Extract
10. The day Marjorie BeBe moved away. Ugh, still sad about that.(I think that's when KiKi started taking me to work with her, I was a sad little chicken for a while)
11. One day I tried to jump a fence on Webster and got the wind knocked out of Me and thought the end was near.
12.Someone on Webster had chickens and we chased them down the street. I think we moved shortly after this.
13. Playing in the sewer water when Webster would flood. Hello?
14. My fight with Lou Ann Poisel. I already posted about this but anytime I can say or write that name, I must.
15. I used to run wild with Carla Dikus(like the chickens)and one time we went to the bowling alley and I saw Mom's car drive by looking for me! I was soooo scared. We also used to go down to the railroad tracks and that's bad because those conductors have guns and they will shoot you! I really think that's true, still. There was a scary little lean to by the tracks where people would go to sniff paint and glue, and a scary old house by the bowling alley were transients stayed.
16.Let's move on to Eagle Nest where there are no train tracks that I know of. On the first day that the pool was open I was so excited I jumped in with my socks on. Jeff and Jay Harris laughed at me.
17. That bird at Aunt May's house that would drink out of a glass.(It wasn't real)
18. snapping beans at Grandma Gracies.
19. Grandpas paint by number horses on the back porch.(love)
20. The picture of Jesus above Grandma and Grampas bed.
21. Okay, I have that entire house memorized, and everything we did there and everyone who was there. And Aunt Mary's house too.
22. When i got in a fight in the cafeteria at 92 and the smell of the sour sponges we used to wipe off the tables.
23 Banging erasers, so much fun.
24 Getting to write on the chalkboard (heaven)
25 There was a little window(pass through) from the kitchen to the dining room on Webster and Mom had a little mirror sitting on the ledge and she had little glass animals on it and it looked like an ice skating pond and I loved it. I have the little gold, oval mirror frame still. They used to sell these cute little glass, porcelin hand painted animals at the Hallmark store, soooo cute!
You will all be very happy to know, and relieved, that my good little brother Mick bought me a new hairbrush tonite. And it was even the exact same one! Good thing I raised him right ;)
I saw this today for one of my classes at work. I hate when I am crying and I don't know if I am happy or sad. I hope you have your tissues handy, this one will get ya!
Well today our power was out for no apparent reason. It was really weird because it was out, and then when we had the storms it was back! So crazy. We went to Logans roadhouse to celebrate back to school with the Davis' (Davis's? I never know). And of course, Karli had to be the comedian. Hank wasn't able to come because he was at football practice so he ordered him some chicken fingers to go and of course Karli proceeded to announce to the waitress and half the restruant that her brother is retarded and they had to leave him at home. We almost died laughing and I think she scared the waitress to death. Poor girl. But even when I got up to go to the bathroom later, I was still laughing about it. I am so glad bebe is a girl on the move again! I hope we can all keep up. Mick broke my hairbrush. And this was no ordinary hairbrush. It was an awesome hairbrush and I actually just got it in like the last 6 months. it has gel in the hand so it is cool and squishy and mick's curiousity just couldn't handle it and he squeezed it to death. now it is dead. just like vivian's poor chicks, squeezed to death. i'm sad. I also have to work this weekend, both saturday and sunday, which really gets in the way of trying to get new phones and buy a mattress.
Stephanie Nielson> She is a mother of 4 beautiful children and still madly in love with her adorable husband. However, she was in a plane accident with her husband and has been badly burnt (oh ps her husband was flying the plane). She has a blog on here and I just so admire her positive spirits and love for live. She has a very vintage style and great photography. However, she has not posted a picture of her face since the accident, just a little glimpse of her eyes. Yall should check her out!! I sat here reading her blog all day just balling and laughing. Kelly I can see you enjoying her blog!!
Hi Everyone! Today was the first day of school! Conner stood on the bus stop with Isabella for an hour this morning. They went out there early because they just could not wait. Conner told his Dad his teacher is a hot blonde. Miss Stonecipher. She went to Forest Hill. I think she's around 26 or so.
And, Conner and Jayce are on the same football team! Last night was the first official practice. They will get shirts with their last names on the back. They are the Vikings. Conner loved it and it looked like Jayce did too.
Saturday morning is the Pancake Breakfast at Dillon Park. I will let you know when their first game is.
Stevie has to have three wisdom teeth pulled. Mercy sakes!
Michaela has begun her cross country season. Most of the meets are away this year. I admire her tenacity.(Hics word)
Mom is very happy with her new scooter, I think. That was very serendipitous (Tiff's word, or Logann's or both)
Mick's pictures of Glacier National Park are suweeet.(Mick's word)I was showing someone at work the pics and he called him McGyver. *snort* Isn't that funneah? I def admire Mick's fortitude in that altitude. He's a stellar Dude.
Love, S.T.
Good Morning. It felt so good to sleep in today. Some days I feel bad about sleeping in because it makes the day so short and I feel like I wasted it, but today it was well deserved! The Luddy's got here on Friday night, just in time for dinner. We ate and caught up and had a really good time. We got up on Saturday morning for a tour of Beck's courtesy of Will. Then of course, we had to stop by Tom and Amy's to show off the chickens and the garden. It took a little encouragement, but Vivian was able to teach Tommy and Nick how to pick up the chickens. Afterward, we went to Jackson Street Cafe and had a delicious breakfast, which was capped off with Nick spewing in my Dad's car on the way home. It was quite comical to see Heather dealing with that situation and cleaning up the puke from the back of the passenger seat (Mick had a very close call-- he was riding shotgun!). Everyone spent the day on the boat while Jake and I went and ran some errands, which included a Mt. Dew Slushie, stopping by the Vieke's, finishing up our anniversary shopping and dinner at Mexican. It was quite delicious and when we got back we had the house to ourselves so we sat on the porch for a good while, then popped some popcorn and watched a movie on the new TV. A perfect date night in the basement, just like the good old days!! Sunday morning the Luddy's left after a big breakfast with Mariol. Then we had the Brownlee's over for a boat day. It was really choppy out on the lake but that didn't stop the tubing and swimming. It was perfect weather for a lake day.
Today I have to go to work just from 1-4 for a meeting, so I am happy. We are now less than three weeks away from hopefully getting our house! I am in definite immediate need of a king sized mattress. Less immediately, I will be searching for a queen bed and matress for our guest room, a new desk for Jake, and a dining room table, oh and patio furniture (that might be stretching it a little bit!). I hope to see some more blogging this week please!! Maybe some pics from Marco?
Sure has been pretty quiet on the blog scene this week. Is everyone getting ready 4 back 2 school?
Tor, this is the 1st time in 17 yrs you haven't got to go back 2 school shopping, isn't that a little sad. We are leaving Monday for Marco for 11 days, but will keep in touch from there. We are doing a little summer cleaning, a little boating, golf and catching up on movie watching. Since we are retired sr citizens we usually wake up about 5 or 6 and make coffee then lay on the couch and watch a movie than fall asleep again and start our day about 9. CAN'T WAIT. Girlies hope you all enjoy your weekend, much love HICKORY

I am so glad that tomorrow is Friday. Or since most of you will be reading this tomorrow, then I am glad that today is Friday (even though in reality, it is still Thursday)! Anyway. I had an orientation class for work today, but I got my schedule for the rest of the month and then I will be all on my own! So far I've been working with another nurse, Krista, but before I know it, I will be flying solo! Luckily I will still have everyone close by to give me pointers. After work I came home and took Maverick on a walk. It was quite hot and I was actually walking for exercise instead of leisure, so I was really hot, but I was prepared, I had my sports bra on. I hate sweating in a nice, real bra. Drives me so crazy, first off, because bras are hard to clean without destroying. ugh. so frustrating. After that, I vacuumed, windexed, pledged, and mopped the main part of the house. The Luddy's are coming for the weekend and our cleaning lady hasn't been here in a month! Then everyone started coming home and I decided to wash my sheets (I absolutely looove clean sheets). My mom, of course, made a delicious dinner, which we ate on the porch, while Mick told us about his trip. Then I vacuumed some more and put my sheets on the bed, while mom cleaned and Jake and Dad went to get a new TV! Our big one in the basement broke, and it was time for a new one, instead of just repairing it. So we got one! Same size and everything. I want to hear about some weekend plans please!!
hi- i don't really know what to say, but I wanted to post.
oh! I thought of something. Jake got me diamond earrings for our anniversary! They were perfectly wrapped and placed on my pillow! how cute right? love him.
Hello my LOVALY Indiana ladies!!
So I am starting to wonder what those tennesseans are up to down there? It has been so long since we've had a post from south of the mason dixon line! Anyway! We had a fabulous weekend at the cabin. I got to stop by Methodist on Friday morning to see Whitney. The whole waiting room was full with her family and friends. She has been through a lot and has a long way to go, but she has made some progress. She is showing more response to stimulation. She also has stopped bleeding internally. You can check on her progress at: http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/whitneyking
After seeing her on Friday, I actually felt better. I was imagining the worst, which she wasn't far from, but at least I could stop worrying about the unknown. Keep her in your thoughts this week.
We went straight to the cabin afterward and got to spend some time with Tiff and the kids and Bry and his brother. We pretty much stayed low-key throughout the weekend, which is what I needed. There was a euchre tourny on Friday night and pancakes for breakfast on Saturday. We went for a few 4-wheeler rides and the boys put up some tree-stands. It rained some on Saturday night, but my awesome hubby stuck it out through the rain, making me a camp fire so I could have some s'mores. They were absolutely delicious.
I work 12 tomorrow and Tuesday, off wednesday and then have more orientation classes 8-430 on Thursday and friday. I want to hear about everyone's weekend!
