I joined Lifetime Fitness today in Castleton... it is AMAZEBALLS! They have a ginormous cardio area! With tvs and stuff. Also a big ol area to do weights in. They have two group fitness studios, where they also have yoga and pilates which I am sooo stoked for. They have a super nice locker room with marble floors and ionic blowdryers. Super nice ones. Plus a steam room and you can use the pool that has an awesome slide, a hot tub and a lap pool tool! It is crazy. they also have a climbing wall, racquetball courts, basketball courts and squash! I don't even really know what squash is, except for the veggie! I am so excited to get back in shape and burn some calories. Awesome! Gyms are so funny. People are checking all the other people out. Its like high school almost, except people are sweaty. oooh they also have a salon and spa! Crazy right?? Oh! And a cafe where you can buy meals, snacks and protein shakes. I cannot wait to have a shake/smoothie.

Jake and I finalized all the plans for our kitchen today! yay! i am so excited. We went to the showroom to look at countertops and pick out the color we wanted. We decided to go with the laminate that looks like granite. it is going to be amazing. I cannot wait. We are getting an under the counter sink too! Hopefully it will all be here in about 2-3 weeks.... just in time for me to host a bday party at my home! Cannot wait!!

Barbie!

So I practically died today! I finally got to visit the Barbie Fashion Exhibit at the Children's Museum. I thought it would be fun, but it was a million times more! They had tons of Barbies on display from the very first all the way through this years Holiday Barbie. It was so cool because they also had designs from famous designers. Their lifesized designs we worn by models in the 50th anniversary barbie runway show and they had some on the mannequins at the exhibit. My favorite, of course, was the green betsey johnson, the one on this post is a Rachel Roy design. It was all soo cool. I even saw some of the accessories and Barbie's I had myself! They also had an area where all the little girls (and some brave boys) could dress up and walk down the runway. It was sooo cute. Mary Brownlee did it twice! It was such a blast. I also got to see the Christian Louboutin's designed for the runway models, it was all I could do not to steal them! Tres Chic. I told Matt the exhibit should have been bigger, but he told me it was plenty big for him. Anyway, it was totally worth it and I am glad I didn't miss it!

Cool Video

Boo, this reminds me of your quote about planting trees you'll never sit under....

Yep, managed to not leave the house now two days in a row! Sweet! No gas pumps, seat belts, red lights, stop signs, cash registers or parking lots. Whew. I got up at 6 am with Mike and cleaned the kitchen, took a nap, made more coffee and fried donuts. It's been great. I watch tv, do a small chore, whatever! We are all in the den now with the tree on, fire going. We saw a commercial about chips and salsa and so now we are eating chips and salsa. We are going to watch Elf. Stevie is making us watch NCIS. She thinks it's so funny. I did put on my blue jeans today. The gingerbread house is done and adorable. I think that taking vacation the week of Christmas makes perfect sense. I should always do this. I love being home. Cozy.

Hi everybody!

Tomorrow is Christmas Eve! I'm trying not to leave the house today because that will only cost me money. I am having a wonderful Christmas vacation. I slept in till 10:00 yesterday & made cookies and watched Dirty Jobs and made a fire in the fireplace, stayed in my pajamas all day, took a shower and put on more pajamas, made a nice dinner, played sharades, watched Far & Away and Paper Heart, Casey, Nancy, Kyndrick, Gayle & Fred were all here at some point in the day and Fred and Gayle bought Conner a train. Oh, and  a gingerbread house that the kids will finish today. And they brought us a ham too! So nice! Anyway, day two of my vacation may just be sorta like the first if I'm lucky and play my cards right. I'm thinking about frying some donuts for breakfast. yum...ttyl~ttfn

PARIS (AFP) – Man's best friend could be one of the environment's worst enemies, according to a new study which says the carbon pawprint of a pet dog is more than double that of a gas-guzzling sports utility vehicle.
But the revelation in the book "Time to Eat the Dog: The Real Guide to Sustainable Living" by New Zealanders Robert and Brenda Vale has angered pet owners who feel they are being singled out as troublemakers.
The Vales, specialists in sustainable living at Victoria University of Wellington, analysed popular brands of pet food and calculated that a medium-sized dog eats around 164 kilos (360 pounds) of meat and 95 kilos of cereal a year.
Combine the land required to generate its food and a "medium" sized dog has an annual footprint of 0.84 hectares (2.07 acres) -- around twice the 0.41 hectares required by a 4x4 driving 10,000 kilometres (6,200 miles) a year, including energy to build the car.
To confirm the results, the New Scientist magazine asked John Barrett at the Stockholm Environment Institute in York, Britain, to calculate eco-pawprints based on his own data. The results were essentially the same.
"Owning a dog really is quite an extravagance, mainly because of the carbon footprint of meat," Barrett said.
Other animals aren't much better for the environment, the Vales say.
Cats have an eco-footprint of about 0.15 hectares, slightly less than driving a Volkswagen Golf for a year, while two hamsters equates to a plasma television and even the humble goldfish burns energy equivalent to two mobile telephones.
But Reha Huttin, president of France's 30 Million Friends animal rights foundation says the human impact of eliminating pets would be equally devastating.
"Pets are anti-depressants, they help us cope with stress, they are good for the elderly," Huttin told AFP.
"Everyone should work out their own environmental impact. I should be allowed to say that I walk instead of using my car and that I don't eat meat, so why shouldn't I be allowed to have a little cat to alleviate my loneliness?"
Sylvie Comont, proud owner of seven cats and two dogs -- the environmental equivalent of a small fleet of cars -- says defiantly, "Our animals give us so much that I don't feel like a polluter at all.
"I think the love we have for our animals and what they contribute to our lives outweighs the environmental considerations.
"I don't want a life without animals," she told AFP.
And pets' environmental impact is not limited to their carbon footprint, as cats and dogs devastate wildlife, spread disease and pollute waterways, the Vales say.
With a total 7.7 million cats in Britain, more than 188 million wild animals are hunted, killed and eaten by feline predators per year, or an average 25 birds, mammals and frogs per cat, according to figures in the New Scientist.
Likewise, dogs decrease biodiversity in areas they are walked, while their faeces cause high bacterial levels in rivers and streams, making the water unsafe to drink, starving waterways of oxygen and killing aquatic life.
And cat poo can be even more toxic than doggy doo -- owners who flush their litter down the toilet ultimately infect sea otters and other animals with toxoplasma gondii, which causes a killer brain disease.
But despite the apocalyptic visions of domesticated animals' environmental impact, solutions exist, including reducing pets' protein-rich meat intake.
"If pussy is scoffing 'Fancy Feast' -- or some other food made from choice cuts of meat -- then the relative impact is likely to be high," said Robert Vale.
"If, on the other hand, the cat is fed on fish heads and other leftovers from the fishmonger, the impact will be lower."
Other potential positive steps include avoiding walking your dog in wildlife-rich areas and keeping your cat indoors at night when it has a particular thirst for other, smaller animals' blood.
As with buying a car, humans are also encouraged to take the environmental impact of their future possession/companion into account.
But the best way of compensating for that paw or clawprint is to make sure your animal is dual purpose, the Vales urge. Get a hen, which offsets its impact by laying edible eggs, or a rabbit, prepared to make the ultimate environmental sacrifice by ending up on the dinner table.
"Rabbits are good, provided you eat them," said Robert Vale.

Celtic Women

I'm listening to Celtic Women on You Tube this morning at work. I only have three more hours to go! I also have a a Christmas screen saver so I pretty much got it going on. yes. On the way home last night we dropped Stevie off here at Orchard because the truck was here all weekend and she drove on home and Kayla and I went to do some Christmas shopping. We went to Meijer and Target and really had fun and found many delightul treasures. Oooh, Kayla just texted me and her word was dedication. Okay, well, it seems like some people got words that already matched them, stuff they don't even have to work on. But that's kind of cool too. Kyla is already dedicated and Tori is already loyal. Those are both words I would use to describe them. Mom is giving and I have an active imagination and Tiff already never does give up. I guess those words can be considered affirmations that we are on he right track I guess. Anyway, we got home last night and there was a cracklin' fire in the fireplace and I realized that if I sit in just the right spot in the couch I can see both Christmas trees. The one in the living room and the one in the den at the same time. So ,that's what I did. And I set up my nativity, well, actually Conner did. ANd we ate venison stew that Mike made and it was delicious with warm french bread. Mike said he was trying to extend our cabin experience for us. He had been up since three because was called into work. And so he went to sleep very early. Kyndrick came over and we watched Public Enemies. And Kaya wrapped presents. That girl is a present wrapping machine. Lawsy Mercy. I want to blog about the weekend for KiKi but I am at work, so, maybe later will be better. Probably so.

imagination

That's my word for the year. IMAGINATION. I've been thinking about it and I am excited about my word. I cannot wait to where my imagination can take me this year. Could be anything. I am trying to remember everyone's words but I may need some help.

blogability

I have to tell you my INCREDIBLE news! I got home today and there was a package on my kitchen table from Carlee and I'm thinking,"Hmmm, what could this possibly be?" So, I open it and...What to my wondering eyes should appear but a Lonesome Dove soundtrack tape! Oh to the My to the Goodness! I absolutely could not fathom my good fortune! What have I ever done to deserve this amazing gift? Carlee's card said she had found it amongst her old tapes and thought I might like to have it. Talk about the understatement of the year! All I could think of is, How does she know? And then I realized that possibly she read some post of mine about Lonesome Dove or maybe even checked out my Cowboy Blog. Which is terribly neglected I might add. Anyway, I am just beyond thrilled as you might imagine. The happiness factor is def in the upper levels. So, I find a tape player, headphones and batteries and hit play and I am completly swept away in a cocophany of sound that thrills my ears! It's violins and mandolins and it's beautiful and I recognize these sounds immediatly and they are beautiful and clear and I just am loving it. So, everywhere I go I have this beautiful soundtrack playing in the background and it makes everything I do seem way more interesting. As if walking into the laundry room is of such  great import that you need a crescendo of violins to mark the occasion. Well, if I get no other presents this year I'm set. What a lovely, thoughtful surprise. I think I will go to sleep tonight listening to track number seven called Murdering Horse Thieves. (Not Bees) haha.B-E-E-S! Anyway, Oh mercy me, I've often thought that I would like to have the Soundtrack but I've never seen it on sale anywhere and I just thought maybe someday I would be lucky enough to own it and little did I know that today was the day. I remember when I was 16 and bought Stevie Nicks Bella Donna. That is how I feel now. I feel as excited as a little girl. I love music and I love Basil Polederis who composed and conducted the soundtrack. I wish you could all here it. I just really wish that you could al hear it. Oh thank you Carlee, you little Christmas Angel you!

Thanks girls for the Graduation Party on Friday!! Had a blast and no more driving to Purdue!! YAY! :)

Is anybody else as excited as I am for tomorrow??? Hick, I am making crepes just for you...I think the last time I made them was for Kelly's baby shower when she was prego with Steph? I hope they're as yummy as you remember. Logan, are you on your way today, I've got a bed for you if you need it? What time will everyone arrive so I can plan dinner, let me know. I've got my Santa Sack all packed and ready to go. See ya there!

I must have been an exceptionally good girl this year because I've been gifted with diamonds for the second time in less than 6 months! I didn't even have to drop the hint. Jake got me a new heart necklace. He bought me one 5 years ago on our first Christmas together (and maybe mentioned that he had fallen in love with me) and he decided it was time to get me a new one. How special (and guess what? He still loves me!) I just love it! And I just love him even more. He's the very best! I'm a lucky lucky chica.

Can't wait to see you all this weekend!

I love Christmas when everyone's about, throwing snowballs and shouting out loud.
I also love the food and the cards we get.
On Christmas Eve Santa comes and brings us presents to play with and to have fun with.
Sometimes there are movies, posters or clothes.
Sometimes we get electronics or just plain old toys.
But Christmas is really about spending time with family and having fun with friends.
On that special day people come together to remember Jesus as the one he is.
For what he has done for us.
He will still be our Lord if we are pure or not.
Whether we are in the snow or by the fire, baking cookies or eating Christmas food we all know who will be there for us, our Lord.
And the people who have passed away or we didn't get to meet, no matter what we will be watched over
and kept safe.
But spreading cheer and having fun, looking at the Christmas tree, playing with toys and sitting by the fire, no matter what, IT IS CHRISTMAS!
Whether we are down whether we are happy, it is Christmas and that's what it is, a time of love, a time of cheer a time of anything, it's still here.

"When the song of the angels is stilled,

when the star in the sky is gone,

when the kings and princes are home,

when the shepherds are back with the flocks,

then the work of Christmas begins:

to find the lost,

to heal those broken in spirit,

to feed the hungry,

to release the oppressed,

to rebuild the nations,

to bring peace among all peoples,

to make a little music with the heart…

And to radiate the Light of Christ,

every day, in every way, in all that we do and in all that we say.

Then the work of Christmas begins.

-- Howard Thurman, adapted

Is everyone going Friday night or are some going on Sat? Is anyone carpooling?

Candle Light Service

I was just thinking how cute it was last night after we got done singing Christmas Carols and a little voice came out of no where and it was Zoe and she said, We, We, We, Did it!

CLARK GIRLS WEEKEND DECEMBER 18-20
Okay Girlies...it's time to get fired up for my favorite weekend of the year!! As far as I know Kiki, Ann H., and Helen are the only no shows. Logann will be our sole Tennesse rep. I plan on arriving early Friday afternoon to get dinner started. Each girl needs to bring a $25 gift wrapped for an exchange (Abby & Avery may want to buy for each other) as well as whatever you would like to drink. Below is the food assignment list. Tori and I remembered that we decided not to have dinner on Saturday, just snacks. I believe there will be 14 in attendence.
Fri Dinner - Kim & Andrea
Sat BF - Tiff & Julie
Sat Lunch - Ann, Tori, Kelly
Sat Appetizers - Kim, Tori, Christy
Sun BF - Logann, Steph, Michaela
2 cases of water - Kelly
1 gal milk - Bebe
2 jugs oj - Bebe
Birthday cake - Christy
Birthday beverage - Christy
To help us push away from the table for a few minutes and venture outside of the cabin, I think Christy and Kelly need to choose teams and come up with some sort of relay competition for Saturday afternoon. Between the two of you I will look forward to a fun filled event. Maybe we need to make team t-shirts??? Let the ideas start flying!

Hey Tori

Can you invite Michaela to the blog? somichaela@aol.com
Thanks Doll! Hope you get ta feelin' better lickity split.

hiiiiii (sad hi, not a HI! hi) like how ross says it on friends when he is depressed. I am sick! eww. I thought it was just my allergies because I missed a few doses of zyrtec because I ran out and kept forgetting to buy some, but last night I started going down fast and I realized it was more than just my allergies. I have my parents to blame for always making me go to soccer and stuff when I didn't want to, because here I am at work, even while I am sick. I probably should have called in sick, but of course, that darn upbringing comes back to bite me. Anyway, I told Jake that if I don't start feeling any better, I will definitely call in sick tomorrow. So far, I've made it to the halfway point of my day, but I am feeling pretty lousy. I also have to wear a mask so I don't get the little babies sick(er). So yea, no fun no fun. But I am so very glad that it is happening this weekend and not next weekend. So hopefully I should be fully recovered and ready to party come Friday!

I had Eli come and spend the night on Thursday and the first thing he tells me is that he can watch all the Star Wars episodes, except for the one where Darth Vader dies. Anyway, Jake was pretty excited to hear that so they popped it in while I made dinner. We didn't get to finish it all because we had to get to Micks' lacrosse game and my indoor game right after that. So Eli woke up on Friday morning and wanted to finish it. We had plans to go to the Children's museum (I was so stoked!) but when he finished the first one all he wanted to do was watch the second one and special days with tori are all about getting to do whatever you want, so of course I let him. Well after that episode we got out of the house and went for lunch and whatnot and then I met up with Nancy to drop him off. Come to find out jake and I got conned by a 5 year old, because Eli is not allowed to watch ANY of the episodes of Star Wars... oops! Anyway, Nancy said she will just be able to blame me for any of his curroption and one day there would be payback when I had kids. I couldn't believe it! He was such a good little fibber. It was incredible because he was able to tell me a ton of stuff about everything and everyone and things that were about to happen, so I jsut assumed he had seen them before! Well, aparently not! He just knows all that info because Nancy reads him the books! I couldn't believe it. Anyway, it at least makes for a good story.

Last night I made some delicious chili to eat on all weekend and it was perfect weather for it. Jake and I stayed in, cuddled up by the fire and watched Love Actually. I just love that movie. It is always so great. We also watched some of our TV shows which were pretty good episodes as well. All in all it was a great night, except for my increasing sickinesss. ugh.

Talk to you girls later!!

nanny's coming home today. she passed a kidney stone and it took a toll on her, but she is better and we are having our CHRISTMAS party tonight, AMEN!!!!!

for you HIC

Tis the Season

Does anyone want to come to the candle light service at our church on Sunday night? It's at 5:30. If you need to get into the Christmas Spirit, this is the place for you. And, if anyone wants to come and sing for everyone that would be such a special blessing! Or just come and join the celebration.

Donell shared this video with me and I just knew it had to be posted on the blog.

If they can make it there, they can make it anywhere.

Zaarath and Christopher Prokop -- and their two cats -- live in the smallest apartment in the city, a 175-square-foot "microstudio" in Morningside Heights the couple bought three months ago for $150,000.

At 14.9 feet long and 10 feet wide, it's about as narrow as a subway car and as claustrophobic as a jail cell. But to the Prokops, it's a castle.

"When you first see it, the first thing you say is, 'Holy crap, this place is small,' " said Zaarath, 37, an accountant for liquor company Remy Martin. "But when I saw it, all I could think of is, I can do something with this. This is perfect for us. We love it."

Here is an article from the IndyStar about Kendra (former Girl Next Door) living in Indy! I will just die if I meet her, or run into her out on the town. I almost wish I worked at Clarian North so I could deliver her baby! Crazy!

Kendra Wilkinson doesn’t even attempt to reach over her eight-months-pregnant belly to put on her stark-white sneakers.

Instead, she lifts her foot with some awkwardness as her husband, Hank Baskett III, slips on one size 7 shoe — not nearly as gently as Prince Charming put the glass slipper on Cinderella’s foot.

But Kendra’s just about as grateful.

“Thanks, baby,” she says as Hank helps her up from the dining room chair in the couple’s Carmel mansion. “I can’t reach my feet anymore.”

And then she laughs the clamorous laugh that made her a household name on “The Girls Next Door” — possibly even more so than her relationship with a famous, sexually active octogenarian.

Kendra, 24, and Hank, 27, moved to Indiana in late September, after he signed with the Colts, and bought a house in the same gated community that hosted former Pacer Jermaine O’Neal’s compound. They settled in about a month ago, after staying at the Candlewood Suites for a few long weeks. Cramming two adults, their things and two rambunctious dogs in that tiny extended-living apartment, Kendra says, is their first real memory of Indianapolis.

“It was...small,” she says, scrunching up her nose.

Their red brick home — not the largest one in the neighborhood of unbelievably big houses adorned with pools, matching pool houses, six-car garages and tennis courts — is undoubtedly a step up. The interior is decorated in grays, creams and whites, but what’s noticeably absent is a nursery for Hank Baskett IV, who’s due on Dec. 12 at Clarian North.

“I never in my wildest dreams thought that little Hank would be born in Indianapolis,” she says.

Kendra and Hank haven’t set up the nursery because they’re planning to move back to L.A. in February, “after the Colts win the Super Bowl,” Kendra says.

On this Saturday in early November, the house is filled with about a dozen crew members from US Weekly magazine, shooting a photo spread of Kendra and Hank in their new home in the quaint Midwest. Next week, it will be populated by the crew from her show, “Kendra” on E!, when she starts shooting the second season.

“We’re very bouncy people,” Kendra says, trying not to move her lips as the makeup artist touches up her nude lipgloss. “We’re — what’s the word?”

“Hermits. No. Nomads. We’re nomads,” Hanks says from across the room.

“Yeah, nomads!” she says, accidentally moving her mouth out of lip-brush range. The blond, middle-aged makeup artist patiently waits for Kendra to finish talking before painting on the thick gloss. “We can’t stay in the same place for a long time.”

While they’re here, though, they’re making the most of it.

“Indianapolis has been amazing so far,” Kendra says. “I’ve always dreamed of knowing my neighbors and being around people I know. But, of course, we’re going back to L.A., so it’s sort of like a tease.”

***

Hank and Kendra are learning to cook (spaghetti with meat sauce, barbecue pork chops), and go to Marsh down the street for their groceries. Kendra has discovered the Fashion Mall at Keystone at the Crossing and the Clay Terrace mall in Carmel, where she gets her hair done at David and Mary Salon. As for dining out, they love to eat “lots and lots of meat” at Fogo de Chao Downtown and have been on a double date to Harry & Izzy’s with Peyton and Ashley Manning.

“I get really scared meeting NFL wives because I’m a very shy person,” she says. “All of the guys on his team have been really great.”

She gets recognized when she and Hank go out in Indianapolis, but she doesn’t mind it.

“People come up to me, but it’s very different,” she says. “They’re not all up in my grill. They’re very caring. Everybody’s been so helpful.”

But mostly, the couple hangs out at home, playing old-school games — specifically UNO.

“It relaxes our mind because we’re so busy,” Kendra says.

Hank doesn’t agree. “It doesn’t relax my mind. I go to bed angry because she cheats.”

By now, Kendra’s makeup is finished, and she takes a break from US Weekly to be photographed for Metromix. She heads to the backyard, passing Hank, who gives her a loving smack on her now-curvier behind. He heads back into the house to change out of his white T-shirt, returning in a neon orange polo for the photos.

In between shots, Kendra talks about how she’s planning to lose her baby weight quickly — Hollywood-style — and scolds her famous dogs, Rascal and Martini, for eating the grass. But she’s mostly concerned about kneeling in dog poop.

“You better get used to it,” Hank tells her. “There’s going to be poop everywhere in a little while.”

After posing for a few photos, the couple move back into the kitchen, and Kendra leaves to change out of her jeans and three-quarter-sleeve burgundy top for another US Weekly photo. Hank, sitting at the dining room table, says he’s learned how to help her through every step of her pregnancy.

“Just learning to adapt to her as she has with her body changing,” he said. “I know how to rub her hips now.”

He abruptly stops speaking when he sees his wife reappear in the kitchen, this time wearing a flowing, yet clingy, short red dress. His eyes move slowly up and down, and for a second, he almost seems to forget where he is.

***

In the living room, Hank’s parents, Hank Jr. and Judy Baskett, in town for the weekend, are watching “The Godfather,” trying to avoid the hullabaloo. Hank Jr. has been sleeping on the cream leather couch during most of the shoot, and Judy has been fiddling with a laptop on the coffee table, which is covered with various electronic devices and three McDonald’s soda cups left over from lunch.

“Kendra’s hung up on the little plain cheeseburgers,” her mother-in-law explains. With two sons of her own, Judy has a close relationship with her son’s reality-star wife.

“That’s the daughter I never had,” she said. “That’s my little girl. She’s just so down to earth. She’s simple. She could be like anything in the world, but she’s just simple.”

Hank brings out a 20-by-30-inch photo from their June wedding; he’s dipping Kendra in front of the Playboy Mansion — her residence for four years. (Hank and Kendra met in 2008 in Southern California, at the Playboy Scramble.) He holds up the photo over the mantel, saying it looks ghetto without the frame, but he wants it there anyway.

“Aww, he picked it out himself,” Kendra says, then gets sidetracked by the TV. “Look! It’s ‘The Godfather!’ ”

By this time, the US Weekly shoot is over and Kendra has changed out of the red dress without anyone noticing she was gone. She makes her way back to the kitchen, wearing fuzzy white slippers, dark gray sweatpants and a tight light blue T-shirt that says “Where there is love, there is life.” It exposes about 3 inches of her bare belly.

Is she ready for the baby?

“No!” she says, and belts out that famous laugh again. “Right when I found out I was pregnant, I was on the books, but you know what? I stopped. It’s all common sense. Books, it’s like, come on, I already know that.”

Learning to parent in front of viewers, though, does make her nervous.

“That’s why it’s kind of hard to shoot the show,” she says. “One little mistake that they will probably shoot — the judgment, with it being on TV, that’s what scares me.”

The show, which begins airing again on Sundays in January, will document everything leading up to the delivery at Clarian North, but “they are NOT entering the ‘No Zone.’ They wouldn’t able to use it anyway, because it’ll take the whole budget to clean up my cussing.”

She has no plans for a trendy Hollywood birth. “I just want a normal birth, but a lot of drugs, for zero pain,” Kendra says. “I want to be able to love the experience.”

And she and Hank say they will have more children, but not for a little while.

“I told Hank, do you know what you’re getting in your stocking this Christmas? Not coal — well a little bit of that — but condoms. A whole lot of condoms. I want a little girl. In a couple of years.”

They haven’t even thought of girl names, because there’s no chance baby Hank will be a girl. “Oh no, he’s a boy,” she says. “We saw his big penis.”

At this, Hank slowly shakes his head and averts his light brown eyes to the kitchen floor, as if to say, “That’s our Kendra.”

Mooky Monsers Scare Me Bad

Friday night Kim and I went to go see Gayla's Art Show which as quite nice. Afterward we went to the Antelope Club. Yes we did. We had to bang on the door to get them to let us in but they did. Hello? Clark Girls in the house. puhleaze. As if they even had a choice. Failure was not an option. It's still a private club, but now Women can join. And since we aren't members, we had to have a sponser and all that. But the acting Bar manager sponsered us and in we went. Dad's picture was hanging in the hallway along with all of the other Presidents. He was president in 1966. I was a one year old. Anyway, we walked in and looked around and ordered a few drinks. It really hadn't changed much. I went upstairs and looked around as well. I can't believe I went up there by myself. There were more pictures hanging in the hallway upstairs. All the old familiar faces. So, then we took off and went to White Castle. Are we tough chicks or what? Whisky and White Castle? We are like Modern Day Cowgirls BooBoo and I. So, she drops me off at my house and it's maybe all of 10:30. I go to bed, (cannot find the remote anywhere though)watch tv and fall asleep. Oh, our total at White Castle was 11.11 and when I turned out the light and looked at the clock it was 11:11. yep it were. So, now, I'm sleepin' goooood. Along about 3 in the morning i awake from a souind sleep because I think someone is shaking the bed. I say to Mike, "Did you feel that?" He say's no. Now, He is the light sleeper so if he didn't feel it it probs didn't happen. So, I go back to sleep. Eventhough I have a fear of shaking beds. That to me is the ultimate sign of trouble. So, I knew that it wasn't right. It was more than a dream I felt. and then not too much later and i'm not sure of the time, I hear the most startling noise, it's like a loud vibration, or a big loud strum of a guitar, like fruuuuummmmmm! I woke up again and asked Mike if he heard that and he said yes this time! I said "Are you playing the guitar?" And he said no. At another point in the night he thought that something had fallen off the bed and hit the bed frame and he turned on the light and looked around. He said he thought a spring had shot out of the bed, which made me giggle," Now, we do have a mandolin propped up against the wall but it hadn't fallen over or anything. I looked around the room and the remote control was sitting on the nightstand. I called Kim the  next morning and she said she slept fine without any wierdness going on. So, I'm like, well, geez, that is a creepy old building could a ghost actually follow me home? Last night  I was watching tv and this show comes on Animal planet about hauntings and animals. And it is talking about how spirits can follow you home from a haunted building. Now, I'm not into cultivating relationships with invisible entities. I'm just telling you what happened. I'm not talking to ghosts or inviting them. Now, this one does not really seem familiar to me. But it seems like a playful one. Nothing too scary, but I would like to encourage said apparition to cross on over. Just cross on over..follow the light.

SNOW!?!

I was so excited to see snow this morning when I pulled back the drapes, I squeeled with delight. I was so happy, the first snow is the best, especially when I haven't seen snow in a couple of years. I was like a kid on Christmas morning. Well, then I had to head to work and it wasn't so much fun. I left a little early but I still ended up being about 5 minutes late. The roads were crazy. I was stopping at a stoplight and my ABS brakes kicked on and I am getting closer and close to rear-ending a bus! Worst thing ever! After all those years of giving Will a hard time for hitting a bus, I certainly was not going to rear-end one! My mercy. Anyway, it was crazy out there and I wish I could have jsut stayed home and sipped hot chocolate and watched movies, but I will get a chance to do it tomorrow and I think it will be even worse. But nothing compares to that morning surprise!

Are they really so cute?

My xmas tree!!!

here is our Christmas Tree!! I don't have a proper tree skirt, but this festive blanket works (those suckers are expensive!). Although now I have presents under my tree, since I worked on my wrapping today and a tree topper, compliments of Hobby Lobby!

I forgot to tell you the best part about the weekend. My AWESOME mom and dad gave Jake and Will gun safes. Hallelujah. I was just telling my mom how that was something I've always told Jake he needed to have, at least by the time we have kiddos, because I don't want to have to work on any days off sewing back on fingers and whatnot. So yes, now they have gun safes and you don't have to worry about your children romping around my house and stumbling on a gun or shooting a hole through my window or something crazy. We are safe and sound (hehe-- that was a pun). ANyway, THANKS MOM AND DAD!!

This sushi was soo amazing. I forgot to take the pic before we snagged a few pieces, but you get the gist. Jake and I have been talking about it's amazing-ness all day!

Fireside

My house smells like fire right now and I absolutely love it. Having a wood burning fireplace is absolutely the best! Jake and I planned on staying home all day, but of course I needed to pick up a few things from the grocery and I picked up lunch from Qdoba. Then when I got back home, Jake had found that the grill he wants to get for us is at Lowe's, so we decided to trek to Lowe's. The grill is a christmas present from Meemaw and Peepaw! Anyway, after Lowe's while Jake was setting up the grill I put on my new Christmas CD "A Very special Christmas 7". It was AWESOME. I think I listened to it like 4 times. Anyway, I wrapped up all the presents I have bought so far, which is probably about half, which isn't too shabby. I loved every minute of it, plus I got a great deal on wrapping stuff at hobby lobby this week while they were having a sale. So after that, Jake wanted to break in the grill so we invite his 'rents over for Jake's best ever steaks (he really does make them especially well). We had a perfect south beach dinner: grilled steaks, baked onions, red pepper and green peppers with some seasoning and EVOO and a delish mixed greens salad. Oh! And wine! I picked out the very best white wine. Well I don't know about the very best, but it was really good. I got it at Sam's (that's the best place to buy wine and beer) and it is from the Oliver Winery which is in Indiana. Anyway, it is a soft white wine and it tasted almost just like kid's wine, but without the fizz. I was really surprised when I took my first swig because I totally wasn't expecting that. But it was so yummy and went perfectly with dinner. Then we all settled down and watched Star Trek for about the millionth time, although the Vieke's had never seen it. But it was glorious, because we had the fire popping and xmas tree and mantel all lit up. Oh! We also took our Christmas picture today. The cards won't be until late this week or early next week, but don't worry, you will be getting one! See ya'll later ;)

Everytime I see these commercials I want to get up and dance and half the time I do, and I never let Jake skip past them! ADORABLE!

Hi!

I went Christmas shopping today and it really got me in the spirit. Just lovely really. And it wasn't as chaotic as I though it would be. We got a good part of it knocked out and I am most excited to start wrapping presents tomorrow and putting them under my tree! While we were out my dad surprised Jake and Will with gun safes for their new homes. Jake has been talking about one forever and there has been a smile on his face all afternoon! I feel much better too, because I have always told Jake that when it is baby time he was going to have to get one. Anyway it's pretty awesome. We also went to sushi. We went to this place called Asaka. It is behind hooter's in castleton. It was OFF THE WALL AMAZING! So delish... plus I hadn't had sushi in a while so it made it even better. It was just me, mom, dad and Jake and I think we ordered like 7 rolls, let's see if I can remember them... We got a Las Vegas roll, Canadian Roll, Dynamite roll, Pizza roll (CRAZY, I know!), Crunchy roll, Crunch Munchy Roll (quite a big difference between the two believe it or not), and Funky Shrimp Tempura! OMG it was unbelievable. I can't even remember which is my fav they were all so good. Anyway, it was a great day. I want to do nothing tomorrow with my husband! Enjoy the weekend!

Gross

Conner is watching Dirty Jobs and they were hunting something called Blood Worms and they have teeth and bite!!!! HOW GROSS

I am so very excited. First, it is Friday! Yay! Second, I have two appointments today to look at cabinets for my kitchen. I cannot wait. It should be fun, but I will undoubtedly have a panic attack when I start thinking about the $$$$$. Anyway, I wanted to share these too. The first pair are some awesome Loubs! Looooove them. Who doesn't need a pair of glitter heels? The secons are a pair of sa-weet heels Lo and I saw at Nordy's. I saw them a few weeks before and I died, and then I showed them to Lo and I remembered how cute they are! They are dolce vita. anyway... have a great Friday!!

XMAS

HOPING 2 PUT OUR TREE UP 2MORROW, ITS KINDA SAD WITHOUT MY BABIES

So Jake and I finally put up on Christmas tree on Tuesday evening. We decided on a fake tree, so we headed out after Jake got off work out and picked out the finest tree Sam's had to offer. Haha. It is 8 feet and prelit! I just love it. Well of course, we got into some fights about all my stuff having glitter on it and then said glitter was getting everywhere (believe it or not, we are often fighting over glitter). Anyway, it looks perfect! I think I might need some more garland glitter balls that my mom got from the Linden Tree. I mean it definitely probably fine without them, but I think it could use another row or two. Anyway, after Jake got over the fact that there was just going to be glitter, we had a good time. We eached picked out our ornaments and put them on the tree while listening to our Christmas music. I just love it. So now the inside of the house is all decorated. Maybe we can tackle the outside lights this weekend?

Hi! So I have my first indoor soccer game tonight. I will be playing with complete strangers. I couldn't find enough friends to make a team so instead I will just be joining a team. It is a womens league that is mostly just for fun so I don't know how competitive it will be but hopefully it will be fun. It is every thursday night. So wish me luck!

Happy birthday Mick!

Well, whaddaya know. Today is Mick's Burfday! How cool is that? Man, these childrens do grow up so fast. I try not to say obvious things like that. But sometimes it hits ya like a gong. And then when the gong is stuck it's gotta make the sound, doesn't it? I wish I had a really cool story about how I really cme through for mick when he was in a pickle, but I don't. My story is sad and makes me feel bad. But it won't go away. It's the story, and i'm sure everyone knows it by now, of when Mick wanted an apple at BeBE's and I cut it up and gave it to him and he said he would like it peeled and I said, no, it's good like this, the skin is good. And he started to cry a little and said "But My Mom always peels them for me." I never peeled an apple so fast in my life. I hope I get over this one day. It's like the chip story with Ty, some things just cannot be forgotten. (When he asked me 20 times if he could have the chips and then said he didn't want them.)You know what? I'm so glad I moved back to Indiana all those many moons ago. It was a smart move. It was Hic's idea. Thanks Hic! And Boo & Jon let me live with them. How incredibly generous of them. Thanks you guys. And then I had Stephanie. What an angel she has been in my life. And with Mom's help we got her raised alright. Thanks Mom. Really, everyone helped. Thank you all! And then along came My Mikey. No words can explain how He's changed my life and what his love means to me. And being Michaela's Mom has made me a better person, for sure. She's been very patient with me and visa versa. I've learned a lot from Michaela. And then there's Conner. Who is like, what? Conner is like a breath of fresh air? The cherry on top of a sundea? I dunno, but when God gives you more than you deserve you just are thankful and trust he knows what He's doig. And maybe his mercy is not to be questioned. Maybe He knew that I would need three big Sisters to keep me safe. Because I feel that's what they've done. Like stars in the sky, i've kept my eye on them as not to get lost or wander off too far. When i think of all the people that have touched my life and how I would not have made it without them it makes me so thankful. It's nice to have family in your life who knew you when you were small and watched you grow and still love you even so. It makes you feel real somehow. And it makes you feel important. Like a piece of yarn in a tapestry, it would not be the same without you. So, back to Mick's birthday wish! I'm hoping it's a great birthday Mick. You are a realy good cousin and nephew and all of those things. Your contribution to the family tapestry is definitly an enhancement. Strong and bright, if you were yarn.

HMMMMMM........

If you could pick one person to narrate your life who would it be?

Let the ideas start flying!

ohh okay

You see last night Tom said that Christian Lacroix (the outragous designer) was going out of business! And you see i had him confused with Christian Louboutin (the one who makes the awesome shoes) okay so i feel much better now. I feel a little bit stupid, but that is okay, esson learned.

Lou!

Here is Heidi Klum's new baby girl, Lou. Both are stuning! I can't believe she showed off her banging body on VS Runway just 6 weeks after giving birth.

Oh No!

Jake Gyllenhal and Reese Witherspoon have apparently split up, after 2 and a half years of dating. They are one of my fav couples. I hope Reese is ok!

Hello Kitty Christmas!

Kiki and Logann are coming!!!!

Soo Guess What

If you Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on my name (Stevie) then scroll down again and click on Stephanie Street then you will see a series of Beautiful Men. and how can you deny that? just do it it will make you happy happy happy.

okayyy so today i watched Say Yes To the Dress for um about... 8 1/2 hours today. yeah i no. it was incredible. truly!!! and then i went to target to pick up Kyndrick! and it was beautiful! i got THe Holiday for 3.99 and PS I Love You for 5.99 and GOSSIP GIRLS FOR 12.99!!!! and i bought Jamie a really cute ring that is just adorable!!!! and We are watching The Holiday right now and drinking Bayles with our coffee with a fire in the fireplace and the candles lit and it is just lovely!

Aladdin is on tv! I looove it. I can't remember the last time I saw it, but I still know all the words... not that I am surprised!! What is it about a movie being on tv that makes you want to watch it more?? For instance, I have Aladdin sitting on my shelf and I could watch it any day (I don't even know if I have watched the copy that I have...) but when I saw it was on tv I instantly switched it! Love it. Aladdin is still a hottie!

Hi! So I have been watching Lady Gaga's Bad Romance music vid and it was CRAZY! In a stupid good way. Anyway, I made some white chili today to go with the rest of my leftovers and it made me miss Kiki! I never ate until I had it at her house. Yummy. I slept in this morning after snuggling up in bed last night with the puppies and watching The Holiday (jake went down to the cabin to hunt). I got caught up on some of my TV shows, had a delish turkey sandwich. I swung by Ulta and bought some nail polish, picked out mick's bday present (no worries, not from Ulta!) and headed back home. Watched a little bit more tv, cleaned up a little and then went to see The Blindside with my mom. It was good, but def not the best movie I have ever seen (which a lot of people were proclaiming on FB). I mean it is very predictable, but still heartwarming. After that, I made the chili and took a shower. Jake is at the cabin for another night, so I think tonight I will play some wii!! I have to work tomorrow and Sunday, which is a bummer, but the Vieke's are going to come over tomorrow night and we are going to watch Transformer's2 on blu-ray! It will be awesome. Can't wait to see everyone on Monday!

I AM THANKFUL FOR MY CLARK GIRLS

The blog is back on fire and I am just loving it! I am going to blog all day tomorrow. I had so much fun at the cocktail party last night. Good times good times. Anyway I am having thanksgiving lunch at the vieke's right now and then off to Tom and amys. I loooove thanksgiving. I am most thankful for Jake who takes such good care of me and my puppies who keep me happy and busy and my family who are absolutely irreplaceable. Love you all and thanks for welcoming us back home.

Toms

These are toms. everytime you buy a pair of toms they donate a pair. and these are Vegan Wrap Boots. wowie.

These were designed after Marie Antoinette. how sweet. i found an article and it was like wow. they come with a costomized box and a book telling you how to take care of them. and there are two different heights; the run way high and the walkable high.

you could knock me over with a feather.

Really cute stuff. Reminds me of Ann O.

Just thought I would share some pictures of my beautiful niece!! Delia Mae was born November 4th, but this is my first visit with her! Isn't she adorable! My brother and Nicole came over to my mom's house last night and she was the most well behaved baby I have ever seen. She never made a peep the whole evening and of course I was immediately attached as soon as I met her! I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving and I must say I am sad to be missing the cocktail party this evening!

I'm really not trying to rush through one of my favorite weekends but I sometimes get caught off guard and all of a sudden remember that Mick's birthday is coming up. To schedule around Tori's work schedule and the fact that Logann and Kiki will be in town I thought this Monday, November 30 at 6:30 would be a great time for a Party?? This is your official Family invitation. We'll see you all for dinner and of course cake...yummy!
PS. I will be seeing you all for cocktails tonight, right??? 7pm

dear logann,
please make it a priority to show your mom how to write a new post. make detailed instructions that she can keep with her at all times. thanks and much appreciated!

I got up with Jaker this morning and have been cleaning ever since. It has been a while since I cleaned but it was surprisingly quick. Although it probably helped that I did the bathrooms last night before bed, which I hated then, but I love today. Anyway, I need to do laundry and put my grocery list together. I think I am going to go to Target today and maybe even get a mani! Who knows. I am sad about the rain though. Usually I don't mind the rain, but today I do. Maybe because it is supposed to rain tomorrow. Plus, it is a pain with the dogs because instead of letting them in and out of the sliding door, I have to let them in and out of the garage. Ohhh my what a mess. Anyway, I want to try and see New Moon again today, but I feel like i have so much to do. I have been charged with the honor of bringing a dessert to Tom and Amy's for Thanksgiving. How exciting right! I am glad I don't have to bring a boring side dish. Oh and I have to get my stuff for my app tonight and mom and dad's!! I so badly want to go back to bed now that my cleaning is done, but I fear that it will lead to a wasted day, which is never good. So I must continue on. I also really want to play some Wii! We got the new Super Mario brothers 3! It is so fun because now two people can play at the same time. So instead of only Luigi playing when Mario dies, Mario and Luigi can play at the same time. It is fun, but Jake and I usually end up fighting alot because we are both way too competitive, I secretly like it though! Anyway! Many Thanksgiving Blessings!!

Well, here I am in my lovely den typing on the blog. And that is pretty swell. I see to my left as I look over my shoulder Mike has wood split and ready next to the fireplace. I have a big long table set up in the dining room already. Conner is sitting here with me. He is watching Godzilla on Demand TV (the free list) It is from the 80's or something and Matthew Brodrick is in it. Tomorrow Kenny, Sara and Maia arrive as well as Sam and Ramie. I am excited about tomorrow night at Jon & Kim's home. I do have to work tomorrow but hope to get out of there a little bit early. We are going to play LCR this weekend for sure and will probably use quarters. I had a hard time concentrating today at work I'm so excited. Oh well, tomorrow is another day and will hopefully be quiet so I can make up for today. Geez Louize. I better go make a grocery list or something. I am also happy about having Mom and Pickles over for our Thanksgiving meal. What a priveledge. I am hoping Conner will bless the meal with one of his prayers. He says the most amazing things you just can't believe. He says Thank you God for our World and our lives and for each other and this meal. Really beautiful things like that everytime. Tonight the first thanks was for internet and cable. And I asay Amen.
