Up!
Omg it was soooo amazing. We saw it in 3D which made it even better, except for the parts that I cried through, my glasses were getting fogged up! It is such a sweet movie. I mostly cried through the parts about the old man falling in love and then, well, I don't want to spoil it, but let's just say I had a headache afterward from crying. But it is soooo good. You have to see it. Definitely entertaining and really funny. The litte kid is soo cute and is so is the little old man. You MUST go see it.
Terminator Salvation
Ok, so we all know I love Christian Bale. He does a great job in this movie, but I just kinda thought the movie was a little mediocre. First off, I was a little confused about the future/past stuff and trying to figure out who Kyle Reese was, but one I got that sorted out it was better. It was definitely an action flick, but for some reason I didn't totally love it. I would give it a B-, you could probably rent it.
In other news, Jake and I accepted an offer on our house! I am so excited that is getting closer to official. Our closing date is July 10th!
Looks like Tori and I will be coming up this Thursday!!!!!!!!!
We are having a beer tasting here at work today! It started at 4:30. Amanda is from Canada and just brought in a cooler full of different glorious brewskies. I chose Molsen Dry as my fave so far Steam Whistle is RANK!
Pioneer Woman is in New York, you may want to check it out. It's pretty glorious. Marlboro Man is cool.
Benjamin Button~
I LOVE BRAD PITT!
My friend Will wrote this and posted it on our church blog, it's so beautiful I wanted to share it with you. hope you likey.
Journey through Darkness and Light
I have walked through darkness and I have looked to things for comfort and numbness and newness and relief that only left me in that same darkness. I have wandered in a blindness that I could not see and followed those who were also blind. I have hurt those closest to me and I have felt that same hurt with no resources within me to bridge the gap - the chasm that anger and ignorance create. I have been helpless; I have been hopeless; I have been heartless - I have been numb to the world because I felt it was what I must do to extinguish the pain in my heart - in my soul. I saw my father wither away because he could not come to terms with the demons ripping his life away from him. From the age of sixteen he wandered through that same darkness, but he never found the light he needed to free himself from the chains of sin and sadness that plagued him until he could do nothing but let himself drown in the blackness around him. I wish I could go back and share with him what I have found. I wish he would not have given up on finding the light that we all have deep inside us. Being able to hand everything in my life over to Christ and to know that He is with me and guiding me at all times gives me such peace of mind - more than any art, any poetry, any music, more than silence, more than nature, more than sun, or moon, or stars. We are so lucky to have a savior who is the embodiment of love and who is active every single day in our lives and in the world around us. His grace rains down on us and we do not even stop to feel the drops wash over our faces. He is Light He is Love He is Joy He is Hope He is Freedom He is life. I am so lucky to have found such an amazing group of people to share my life and my path in Christ with. What a family we have become and what friends have we met through this church. I am truly in awe of the Holy Spirit and how it continues to weave into the fabric of Hinkle Creek. Thank you all so much and thank you Jesus.
So! My phone interview for the special care nursery went really well! So well, that they want me to come and interview in person, and observe the unit. Super exciting. I am torn because it will be grueling to make the drive all the way back up, but that is why I am trying to convince logann & helen to make a road trip out of it! I think that would be my favorite job, so I don't want to miss the opportunity. So many decisions. But I will keep you informed.
maverick got to go to doggy day camp at kikis today and he is absolutely zonked. I had to send him over there to get him and his evidence out of the house for the showings. I am still waiting to hear some feedback, but hopefully it will be positive!
I have one more day of NCLEX review and then I will be done! Except for the fact that I will still have to study everyday until I take the actual test.
Steph can we get matching tats or is that dumb? bc that is my dream tat too! (haha tattoo, tat-too!) But dont be afraid to say no, I mean it is permanent and Im not sure I can handle that, so I will gladly let you be the only moon/star tat girl. And if you get it I absolutely must be present.

well girls, I have been uber busy this week. Unfortunately, I have to go without my computer all day becuase I am sitting in NCLEX review sessions from 8-4 everyday. BORING. So I have missed you so! But today we have two showings on our house! And kiki is lovingly babysitting maverick for me! I will catch up with you this weekend though! love love love you!
*ps-kelly, I just googled block backgrounds/layouts.
Can you tell me how to make my Hinkle Creek background pretty like the clark girls?
As you can see I haven't really made it back to my actual "work" stuff yet.
Okay, Grey Gardens, Tori, I feel like you should go ahead and watch the Grey Gardens movie with Drew in it. I haven't watched the actual documentary yet and Amy has me scared to watch it now. So, anyway, I just wanted to say that. Let me know when you watch it though, okay.
written a post and then go back to the main page and hit refresh and a new post pops up? Isn't that so exciting when that happens? I looooove it. *singing* It didn't just happen, but sometimes it does, or sometimes Tri will be posting and hers will sneak in before mine. Love that too. I just love it all Chickens, I just do.
How is everyone this fine morning? It's Wednesday and it may begin raining soon. I can feel it in my bones. I'm at work, drinking coffee and I have a fleece blanket wrapped around my waist. Feeling cozy. We have mini-moos (little creamers) now, here at work. I like them. Our coffee is strong so a couple mini-moos are a must My beautiful Darlings, an utter must. (I said utter) snicker, snicker.
Well, the weekend was so much fun! Friday we all went to the park and watched Conner roller skate and skateboard. I walked the dogs around the park and even walked down the railroad tracks for a while because it always makes me feel like I'm in a movie. It was Me, Mike, Edward, Stevie, Kyndrick and Conner and the dogs. My usual posse'. It was fun. Saturday was T.J Maxx TWICE! Yow! and a soccer game and lunch at Panera. sweet. And I bought a tie dye skirt that is made of t-shirt material that I would like to live in. They have like three more colors and i would like to go buy them as well, but they aren't free. so I picked the one I liked best. So comfy Chickens, so comfy. I wore it to the Graduation party and then I wore it to church the next morning. I haven't worn it to work though. Can't decide if it's suited for work. Today, I love my outfit. I have a cotton blue small flower print skirt on from old navy a blue tank and my fave denim shirt that Tiff gave me. It has copper snap buttons and three quarter sleeves. I triple love it.
Well, the party was really fun. It was really laid back and just a lovely time. Everyone there was smiling and having fun. We stayed for six hours! Mike and Edward stayed for like eight hours! I'm sorry, we have always been the last to leave. I don't see it changing any time soon, either. Kim! Are you feeling better yet? I wanted to remind you to eat a lot of yogurt to replace the good bacteria in your body! Did your Doc tell you that? Please don't forget to do that because of the antibiotics you are taking, okay?
So, back to the party, the food was delicious and the little bar outside was fun. The little ice maker and the little reach in cooler are fun to use. Conner jumped in the lake a couple of times and the hot tub. The cake was delicious! ANd, Boo, did you make those AMAZING brownies? And Hic's carmel popcorn was so good it was all gone and she made a lot! I got to meet new people and spend time with my family! Tori and Jake were awesome and fun and Will and Ann were happy and cute. I got to see Ann's ring and Will seemed to really like his grill. Stevie picked out a cute ring for Tori that she really liked. BeBe was having fun and Mike took his guitar and stood right in the middle of the deck and started playing like it was his job or something. It was kinda funny, but then again, He's kinda funny. So, Tori and Will have graduated from College! The first of BeBe's Grandchildren to do so and the first graduates in the family since Tuna, right? It almost makes me want to go to college... *crickets*....yeah. So, really super proud of Tori and Will right now. And of Kim and Jon for being such great parents! Love the Hirschfeld's. Love parties at the Hirschfeld's. Love my Fam. Really missed the Rogers being there. KiKi, I have really been missing you. When can I see you? I'm going to call you and set a date for a visit, okay? Or aren't we working on a girls weekend date? And by We I mean Kimberly.
So, Sunday was church, another soccer game and we washed our cars and did some gardening. And Monday was Coffee with Tom and Amy and then dinner with BeBe which was really nice because she and I sat in the garage and just talked and watched the world go by. It was very relaxing and fun.
I'm going to work a little but I will be back...with more....later
Well, Jake & I made it safely back to Nashville and are very happy to be back at home. We had an absolute blast in indy! I pretty much exhausted myself on Friday going to three interviews all in one day at Methodist. I have yet to hear back anything, but I am hoping something will work out soon & I have a phone interview tomorrow. Friday night we (mom, dad, mick, & jake) went on a boat ride up to Wolfie's and had dinner and Karli was our hostess with the mostest! Of course she knew practically everyone there, just like her father!
Saturday I woke up early and ran to the grocery for my mom. I felt a little akward buying two cases of beer, Jack, 2 vodkas, scotch, club soda, tonic, lemons, limes and cherries all before 8am. I am sure I raised a few eyebrows. Then Jake and I went on another boat ride around the lake the Maverick and Mocha before getting ready for the party. My mom and I also hit up Karisma where I found the perfect party dress! The party was amazing and it was really great to see all of my family, as well as meet the rest of Ann's family. I've decided I love vanilla vodka as well. Oh, and of course, my contribution to the party was vodka slushies, which were a hit.
On Sunday, Jake, Maverick and I spent the day at the Vieke's hanging out, eating and then going out to their property and shooting clay pigeons. I also unsuccessfully tried to buy Stevie some birthday shoes, but hopefully she still loves me. I did find what I was looking for online so she should be getting them in the mail sooN! Today was mostly spent driving back to Nashville and trying to get settled back into the house.
Tomorrow I start my review course up at Belmont. It is going to be pretty grueling because it is for the next four days from 8-4! blah. Hopefully it will be helpful in helping me pass the NCLEX and become an RN! Our showing got canceled last week, which is a bummer, but hopefully someone will come and look soon. I hope everyone has an amazing four day week!
what have you ladies been up to this weekend? I have been seriously facebook stalking Tori this weekend and I have been totally jealous from all the fun I am missing. Lake? Singing on the porch? Soo not fair!! Helen and I have had a blast these past few days. We went down to River Street tonight to get some dinner. We sat outside and people watched! It was amazing because there was a big wedding group sitting right behind us and there are so many tourist around. I am feeling sick though so we are staying in and watching tv! I started packing my stuff up today.. I cant believe i am about to finish my freshman year! Time flys. Tell me what yall did this weekend!!
As I told Jon this morning it is so nice to have all of my children back in the nest! It's 6:30am and Will is harassing Mick for wearing his pants too low, Tori is yelling at Mick for letting Maverick out the door, Will is mad because I buttered Mick's toast but not his, Tori is lecturing Mick on the evils of a bacon, butter, toast samwich...I'm in my happy place!!! It's going to be a great weekend. Tori has 3 interviews at Methodist today, the big family party tomorrow (Ann's Mom & Stepdad are evening coming from Virginia, I think they want to see the ring for themselves), Mick begins work on his Eagle Project, and I get to spend the weekend with all my favorite people - minus the Rogers Clan. Oh happy days!!!
So around 1 :30 I layed down to take a nap. On Tuesday and Thursdays that is my normal nap time. All of my other friends have class at 2, so it is a perfect 2 and 1/2 hours of sleep and "me time". My roommate was finishing up an essay and was about to leave when someone started knocking on the door. Gabby says quietly "I am not going to answer". Well after like 10 knocks we hear our friend Rosie yell "Logann I am locked out!!". So finally I get out of bed and open the door. There stands Rosie, Kp, and Annabel all laughing about how they locked themselves out of there room. So i start telling them how they must have had one serious brain fart for all of them to walk out of the room without a key. I turn around to face them and who is stand there with the three of them but HELEN!!! She was suppose to come down last weekend for my birthday but couldnt work out the plans. So instead she came this weekend and didnt even tell me!! She is going to be here till next Tuesday and words can not even describe how excited i am. What an awesome besty?? So i hope you ladies have a wonderful weekend, I know I will!
I could not actually believe my EARS! Kris? Really? shocker! It was Adam's to lose and he did lose it. You just can't beat the boy next door when it's all said and done can you? Rod Stewart and Lionel Richie and the Black Eyed Peas! Queen Latifah! What a Jolly Good Time that show was! The whole family +Kyndrick and the dogs watched the whole entire show. Oh Kiss and Queen too! WowZAHHH! So you think you can dance starts tomorrow night.
Hi Everybody! I'm at work....wooorrrrkinnnng. It's a bright sunshiny day. luvit. We have 46 posts on the church blog already. 40 are mine. whateveeeeer. I went to see Angels and Demons and it is good. Star Trek is better by leaps and bounds. (funny) get it, outer space, leaps & bounds. I cracky me self uppy. So, I feel like American Idol will porbz go to Adam. That last song was not great-KARA! And we got to hear how not great of a song it was TWICE just so there was no doubt about it's utter mediocrity. Tori did you get to hear Simon say it was going to be a real ding-dong of a show? Did it make you ROTFALYAO? I did watch a little bit of dancing with the stars and there is a very handsome fellow on there, he was the runner up. I will have to look him up. He danced with Cheryl. I think she loves him. I think Cheryl loves everybody. She just does, it's her way. Anyway, I'm going to go find him now and bring him back here to you. I cannot wait to see everyone this weekend!
It is so hard for me to resist buying this a my ringtone. i don't know what's wrong with me.
i love his booty shake.
This is Jon... Mom/Boo/Kim has been sick and in bed for 2 days. She has been to the doctor twice and is now on the road to recovery after 3 weeks of battling sinus infections. I'm sure she will come out of the haze and be posting in a few days.
So, it has finally come! Tonite is the last episode of perfomances on American Idol. I think I want adam to win. I definitely like them both and they will both do great, but I would love to see Adam win because he is an all around entertainer and he would be the first openly gay (while on the show) winner. I am all about equality! I can't wait to watch! I got caught up on all the eps last night so I am ready to tune in!
btw- where is everyone? no one is posting!
Both mary connell and stephanie have become aunts!!
Stephanie's sister-in-law gave birth a little boy yesterday, emerson christopher louie cantwell
And Mary Connell's sister had a girl today, nora june stinson--- what an awesome name right!
so jealous of these girls!
Now you can feel like you've been to my house!

So I bought two new cd's this weekend and they are totes awesome, so I thought I would share a little review. First cd, is Darius Rucker, who you know from Hootie and the Blowfish (no, his name never was Hootie). Anyway, this is his first country album and I love it. It has the great positive vibe that you get from listening to Hootie and the Blowfish, yet with the country feel & twang. It is a beautiful melding of the different genres. The cd makes me really happy & that is always a good thing. The second cd is the Zac Brown Band, which is also country and I have been wanting this one for awhile. Zac sings the song "chicken fried" but it is his new song that I really like. I like this cd because it is country as well as kinda mellow, almost jack johnson-ish, which the country feel. It also has some great summer songs about the beach and stuff. I recommend both, and I can't wait to listen to both all summer long!
Wow! What a weekend! First I must congratulate Will & Ann on their engagement! I am sooo happy for them and Ann is going to be a beautiful bride! I was absolutely shocked to get a picture message of just a ring on ann's left hand. Ahh! What a surprise.
Friday night was the nursing school pinning, which was awesome. I had to say the Florence Nightingale Nurses pledge, which I don't remember, but I am sure I can uphold. Thanks to all my family who came and supported me. Afterward, we went to the Rogers and had pizza from Mafioza's which was delicious and totally hit the spot after lunching at the Rosepepper Cantina with the Belmont girls & their fams. We sat out on the porch at the Rogers and caught up, laughing and drinking.
Saturday was the actual Belmont University commencement. It was kinda boring but I had my cell so I was texting Jake and Logann, as well as my friend down the row. Although, they did a good job getting through 609 names. Phew. Luckily, I didn't trip, but another girl took a complete spill. After I got my diploma I was very stealthy and snuck out because I had to pee & Jake and I had to get home to move all of our furniture for the new carpet.
Matthew & Noah were coming home from Florida so we got to hang out with them as well as Andy & Kelli, went out to dinner and hung out. Today we are officially listing our house and it looks great. Prayers that it will sell quick!
ps- my hair is kinda a mess in the pinning pics because i was trying to be fancy and switch it up by curling my hair, but I have never been good at it and the result was awful so I ended up having to straigten it like a minute before walking out the door. ugh, what a disaster.
Ok for my photo final I have to do 12 photos of me that tell who i am. Well I have always considered my self a big family person (maybe because I have such a killer family!!) so I choose to take pictures of my family. Here are a few of them I just edited them. I am working on one really cool one where i am putting my eyes with my moms... kind of like the one I post of me earlier except with her!
I love this one of my parents! I think it captures there relationship pretty nicely.
I hope i look this good at 58. what a beauty
Thank you for the Birthday wishes ladies!! I can not wait to post a picture of my outfit from last night. Yall are going to die. My friend Annabel made me a tutu and forced me to wear it. I also had to wear a crown and all these beads. It was one unbelievable outfit! We had a little partay at my friends Aarons house. I played darts and realize just how bad my hand eye coordination truely is. Today Annabel and I woke up really early and layed out. We are now in the computer lab working. Today is the SCAD Fashion Show, I didnt get tickets sadly. They sell out so fastt. Howeverrr they do air it live on the school website. I think it starts at 8 sooo if yall are by a computer you should watch it there is going to be some crazyy stuff on there and some of my friends are the models. It is basically the top like 30 or something fashion design seniors and there senior collection. Two of the girls were on the soccer team so I can not waitt to see there work. Miss Jay from ANTM comes down and trains the models!! Isnt that just way cool? However, you have to be 5'7 in order to be in the showw.. so i will never get to be trained by him :(

I must be so filled with excitement that I can't sleep! It's 7am and I am wide awake. I set my alarm for 830 but i guess I didn't need it. I can't wait to see my mom and dad today as well as andy and kelli! Plus I get to have a fabulous lunch with my family and all the awesome Belmont girls. We are going to the Rosepepper Cantina, which is quickly becoming a favorite! It's going to be great next couple of days! And the best part is that since our house is in disarray because we are trying to set up with the suggestions from the stager I have an excuse not to clean! always something to smile about. I wish the rest of you could be visiting this weekend, but next weekend will be coming soon enough I'm sure!
Can you help me? I am trying to set up a blog for my friends at church. I got the blog up but they can only comment and can't make posts. Is that a different set up? Bob signed up as a follower and left a comment but is there a different set up for followers to post?
He said the finals next week could be a big ding dong! Man, I love him.
Just wondering.
I like mustard, pickles and onions. I don't even need cheese. On an english muffin is good too.
Not to brag, I know it's not a 4.0, but I got a 3.5 again this semester! So glad I didn't flunk out of nursing school so close to the finish line!
I am going to panera for coffee & bagels this morning with my old roommate carmen! she graduates this weekend too! Can't wait for the yummy goodness! Then off to work!
I missed it. Mike said Gokey was probably the weakest link.
So I had a really great experience yesterday! As part of our realtor's services she has a home stager come over and give suggestions on how to set up the house for when we put it on the market (which will officially be this sunday!). It was so much fun. We went through the house together and she just gave suggestions about how to change things around and emphasize the positive points of your home while minimizing other things! Anyway, I made a whole page worth of notes on things to do to get the house ready. She was such a great help, I definitely needed an extra set of eyes. Therefore, this may seem a little weird, but does anyone have an extra queen sized bed lying around anywhere? We have a king in our room and so unfortunately it has become the focus of the room. She said a queen would be much better and since we will def be sticking with a king in the long run we are def not going to be going out and buying one! So anway, let me know!
I have been rearranging everything and packing up even more stuff. Jake is such a packrat that it drives me crazy! I am the type of person who just throws it aways, especially if I haven't touched or used it in the last 6 months. Jake on the other hand has all this collectable stuff that just sits around. And he won't throw away electronic stuff because he may need it "one day"! AHH! Anyway, I am using the home staging as my scapegoat to get him to get everything out. Isn't is crazy how we just collect so much stuff. So much stuff you don't even know you have or realize how much of it you have until you really go through it all. So exhausting, that's why I would rather just toss it so it won't bog down the next house.
I am working tomorrow and then on Friday I have quite the busy schedule. I have graduation practice at 10, lunch at 12 and pinning at 5! So much fun. Then graduation on Saturday morning at 10! Then I will probably be spending the rest of the weekend around the house. I can't believe how close my trip to indy is, I just cannot wait!
He's tall! like 6'2" or 3" tall. And thin, very thin. And, he really loves what he does. James Taylor was pure delight. He had on jeans, boots and a wheat colored button down shirt and a brown belt. His voice goes right through you like an arrow. A gooey gushy goopy arrow. I've heard these songs 1,000 times before and was prepared to be a bit bored. Not so, He had my complete attention the entire time. I would go again just to hear him sing, You've got a friend, it's so beautiful and now, officially my favorite song. His guitar playing is really beautiful and he loves these songs as much as the rest of us do. He's funny and sweet and a gentleman. But he's got an edge to him that makes him so interesting, he's obviously intelligent and his humor is dry and he seems shy. I was surprised at the crowd. Everyone is in their 50's and it's a Tuesday night but there was some major partying going on. Oh those pesky Baby Boomers! They were yelling at James Taylor, like if he's picking up a guitar and beginning to speak someone yelled Play it! and someone yelled Lynrd Skynrd real loud and then of course FreeBird. And then all kinds of stuff. People were yelling out song titles and one lady yelled "play what you want!" Party People Unite! I guess! Someone in our row wasn't supposed to be there and a security guard had to come down and check everyone's ticket in the middle of Oh what a beautiful Morning, And a little tension was swirling about and all this right in the seat next to me! Incredible!
So many of his songs are about love and hope it was inspiring! Shower the people you love with love has always been a favorite and what a great message, and when he sang it the camera panned the crowd and everyone's drunk little faces were on the big screen behind the band. I've heard him sing for 30 years but I'd never seen him live. I didn't think I ever would and wasn't sure I really needed to. But I am so blessed by having attended that show last night. There is an honesty and vulnerability to his music that is so beautiful. It's introspective and emotional but so universal. Sweet Baby James was amazing, He wrote it for his nephew when he was born, his name sake. Sweet Baby James is now 41 years old. That song is sooo Conner and You've got a friend is soo Stevie. So, yeah, I really had a wonderful evening with my old buddy JT last night. We were in the 11th row. My tickets say Artist Comp on them because they were his tickets he had reserved for his family. So, I felt like his special guest. I would have felt like his special guest anyway. His band was great but the very best is always him with his guitar sitting on a stool singing his songs. His voice was clear and strong and he is a very engaging performer. I told Robin thank you for taking me and she said that she knows how much Mary and I both love music and what a great joy it was to share this evening with the two of us. How SWEET it is, indeed.
