so today was a little traumatic. literally. unfortunately, my patient for clinical today was in the hospital as a result of a non-accidental trauma. The very short, totally non-gory explanation of that is essentially child abuse, by the mom's boyfriend. Which is really sad, because this little baby was just three months old. I don't tell you these things to bring you down, to reflect on the respects of our family. We forget how incredibly blessed we are to live in such a safe and warm environment with responsible, trustworthy family members. This baby will literally be scarred for the rest of his life.
And if that were not enough, on my way home from clinical I managed to keep myself from t-bone-ing the car in front of my that turned sideways and flipped. Unfortunately, the guy behind me rear-ended me. The good news is, I didn't have to go to the hospital (although the girls in front of me did) and I managed to not be at fault for anything. The back of my car (which is just a baby '08) is totally mashed and destroyed, so I will probably have lots of fun weeks of dealing with the insurance companies.
And due to my amazing procrastination skills it is almost 6pm and I only have about 3 out of 10 pages done for my paper, due tomorrow! So it may prove to be a long night, luckily I am such a gifted writer ;)
I hope someone has something uplifting to share.

December 2, 2008 at 9:28 AMTori, should you have an xray to make sure you don't have whiplash? Are you sore today? I'm so glad you are safe. Oh that makes me so sad about the little baby. Is the man in jail? I wonder if he was hurt as a child. I hope that baby's guardian angel is watching over him or her and that pecious babe can see the angel and feels safe. I guess on this earthly plane you are one of the babies angels. Dressed in white with powers to heal. Just looking at your pretty face would be good medicine. Oh Tori I'm so proud of you, you have no idea.- Tori said...
December 2, 2008 at 10:15 AMI didn't get an xray and my neck did hurt a tiny bit last nite, but I cured that with a glass of wine! No soreness today though! And yes, that dude is in jail, and i agree, he likely had something happen like that to him as a child. Thanks for the encouragement!
